I dont know him at all. This was just on our news today. I cant imagine the pain he is experiencing or the guilt or the horror.

I can just pray thats all I know to do.

Man crushed to death at Ontario truck stop

ONTARIO -- Oregon State Police say a Michigan man is dead after his 13-year-old son accidentally backed over him at an Ontario truck stop this morning.


A Michigan man died this morning after his son accidentally backed up over him at a truck stop in Ontario, Oregon.

Sgt. Mark Duncan told NewsChannel 7 that the 64-year-old truck driver was hauling a load of steel from Pocatello to Quincy, Wash., and had stopped around 7 a.m. at the Pilot Truck Stop in Ontario to inspect his brakes or check an air line.

The man exited the truck and while he was conducting the inspection his teenage son woke up and turned on the ignition, moving the wheels and crushing his father.

The victim has been identified as Franklin Pugh of Prudnille, Michigan.

The teen has been placed with the Oregon Department of Human Services and the agency is working to return the boy to his mother in Michigan.

Oregon State Police are assisting Ontario Police with the investigation. No charges have been filed.

Duncan says a truck inspector has been called in to determine what may have been wrong with the man's truck.

Oh, that's so sad. I will definitely keep him in my prayers. We had a situation similar to that just a few weeks ago. I women was teaching her 15 year old dd to parallel park and was standing outside of the car coaching her. I guess the girl hit the gas to hard and panicked and hit it again and ran over her mother killing her. I cannot imagine trying to live with that guilt.

Its just so sad.

The officers on the scene said they spent most of the morning trying to console him. They brought in all kinds of help for him.


I just cant imagine the hell that poor boy is going to live with or how you would begin to cope with that.
