PPO BOG is no longer PPO--what would you do?

Feeling a little bummed out! We have an 8:10 BOG breakfast reservation, but the hours for Magic Kingdom were just changed and the park will now open at 8:00, so our reservation is no longer PPO. Trying to decide if we should still keep it... a big motivation behind booking BOG breakfast was to allow us to get into the park a little earlier and take a few photos on Main Street before the crowds all arrived. Any chance we might still get let in a tad early with an 8:10 reservation?

Nope. Won't be let in early if it's after open, especially since it seems it's now EMH.

We had the exact same thing happen (even same time). Since it was Thanksgiving week I had a feeling it would happen. Initially my DD wanted to keep the time but a lunch time opened at 10:35 and we switched to that. We just didn't want to lose the golden hour post park opening. Luckily I was able to get 7D fast pass which was another reason I wanted pre-open BOG

I would cancel it -- I have only had dinner at BOG but in my opinion there is no value in the price of BOG breakfast unless it's to get in the park early. You'd be wasting a lot of valuable prime park time...You could quite possibly be in there until 9am, meaning you could have ridden a number of attractions by then if you skipped it. The breakfast food just isn't anything special or unusual so unless you aren't in any hurry to do some rides with low wait times, I'd skip it. If you're looking for a more relaxed, stroll around the park kind of day, sure, go ahead and keep it.

Unless you have a burning desire to eat in the Castle, I would cancel this ADR. Honestly, this was one of our favorite breakfasts, so if it was PPO, I would keep it just for that, because there really is no empty Main Street photo opportunities any longer.

We have the same issue for our upcoming trip & will be canceling.

I canceled ours. I had an 8:05a ADR for 11/8 and canceled it as soon as I saw that the park hours changed. I was able to pick up a 10:35a Crystal Palace ADR for Sunday, which will allow us a little over 2 hours to enjoy the lower wait times before we eat.

I'm in the cancel column too. the first hour the park is open is an ideal time for touring, and I wouldn't use it on breakfast. like others have suggested, I would try to get an ADR for the end of breakfast time or sometime into lunch. best of luck!

Maybe be nearer rides, but not for good Main Street photos
. . . Frequently, folks are being let in prior to opening time and get to wait at the individual "land" Rope-Drop areas
. . . With CRT-CP-BoG now doing early meals, Main Street is getting pretty crowded prior to official park opening, empty Main Street is a dream

This is happening to us right now. Have an 8 am CP, but park is now opening at 8. Would you keep the 8 anyway, at least we'll get in a few minutes earlier and maybe get some low crowd pics, or cancel and do a 10 instead? Thanks .

I owuld book the 10 and cancel the 8 AM. You can take advantage of the early hour and 45 minutes and then go to breakfast. You will lose a lot of good touring time if you keep the earlier timeframe.

I am sorry, but why should a PPO determine if you want to eat or not? :rolleyes1

Cancel and get lunch instead.dont miss the golden first hour at park opening. At lunch they have those marvelous strawberry cupcakes.

We had this happen to us at the start of October. They still had a line for people with reservations between 8 and 8.30 (I think) and let us in 10-15 minutes earlier than everyone else. We got pictures down an empty Main Street which was our goal.

Thanks everyone for weighing in recently, but I posted this before our trip LAST November haha! We ended up cancelling and did lunch instead. We also had a dinner reservation there, so we were able to really enjoy BOG even without the breakfast experience.

For anyone else still reading this in 2016, I agree and glad you decided to go with a different time instead. We ended up with a 9am CP bfast at opening time last week and I wished we'd either had a ppo or later in the morning. It was too chaotic walking there because people were trying to get down the street in their mad dash for rides and when we were done it was 10:15. Womp womp. Live and learn.

We have the same issue this year but our ressie is for 10 people! I've been trying to switch to lunch or later breakfast for 2 months (ever since we found out) with no luck.
At this point we are keeping ours, but I'm wondering how you PREORDER your breakfast. I hope that might speed up breakfast time!!
Thanks!
