Long time member/lurker - first time post.
(I must say, you guys have one of the best Disney forums out there. The information here in invaluable. Thank you!)

I will be staying at the Disneyland Hotel from Sunday, June 20 through Friday June 25. I was wondering, am I allowed to visit the PP 3rd story roof for the fireworks?
If so, how crowded does it get? I plan on watching them on the Sunday night that I arrive.

Thanks in advance.

Just wanted to say WELCOME to the boards. I have never stayed at PP but I have heard it is real nice. Others will chime in.

Thanks Jack!

It's funny, I've looked through lots of thread here and I haven't come across any information on how crowded it gets on the PP balcony for fireworks.
Out of curiosity, how crowded does it get in the concierge lounge as well?

The area at PPH is actually the pool deck, so your keycard from DLH won't work to open that...I'm not sure it will be allowed.

If you're staying DLH concierge (since you asked about how crowded it gets), just go up there for their fireworks viewing. We were there last year just after Mem Day weekend, and it wasn't crowded at all. We did get there early, played a board game, had some snacks, it was nice.

My room is a standard room at the Disneyland Hotel from Sunday, June 20 through Friday June 25.
I was curious and had my AAA travel agent call and find out how much more it would be to get a concierge level room and how much it would be for a resort view room.
They wanted an additional $800 to upgrade to a resort view!
And they wanted an additional $1500 to upgrade to a standard concierge room.
Considering that my trip for 3 adults and a 2 year old cost $1700, that's almost a 50% and 90% increase respectively!

Yikes.

another option is the parking garage.......I haven't done it so I don't remember the "sweet spot" but I know there is a fairly good view that is open for grabs.

Our last trip (staying at PPH) we were upgraded to a park-view room when we checked in...I just asked if there were any available and they put us in one at no extra charge. See if you can swing an upgrade that way.

I've watched the fireworks from the Paradise Pier pool deck about 4 times now. I'm a local and have never actually stayed at the hotel. Unless they've changed the entry doors to the 3rd floor pool deck, anyone can walk out there to watch the fireworks. I think you only need a PP key to access the pool itself, but the surrounding deck is publicly accessible.

There's plenty of room on the deck and it doesn't really get crowded until 15 minutes before the fireworks. And even then, you can find a spot, if you're not too picky. One year, I even went up there to watch the 4th of July Fireworks. Of course, that night was very crowded, but I got there about an hour before the fireworks and found a decent spot. Have a great time at the DLH and I hope you have a good time watching the fireworks from PPH!!!
