PP or Candy Cane Inn?

Trying to decide between these two hotels. Have always stayed on property at either DH or DGC, but I'm trying to save a few $ this trip. Have booked Candy Cane Inn, but now I'm second guessing myself!

So, looking for any input- Is it worth the extra $ to stay at PP?

Depends. I like both hotels alot....but it depends:

- Is the CCI shuttle a necessity? (the PP to turnstile walk is about 1/2 mile)
- Do you have little ones (who need/want a nice pool & 1 or 2 character meals)?
- Are you an "i love wdw because i'm immersed in disney 24/7" type person?
- How many nights?
- Are you a get there early person?
- What time zone are you coming from? (& how many nights & what days of the week??)

For me....the PP is worth $40-$60 more per night....but it might be worth more or less to you depending on how you vacation.

Have fun planning a visit to Walt's Park. :thumbsup2

:)

CCI offers a free breakfast which helps not only because it is included in the cost, but also because you can grab something to eat quickly without having to stop and find somewhere to eat.

I've never stayed at PP so can't say much about that. You can see my review of CCI with pics in my sig.

Personally, while my kids loved the slide, we didn't find the PP to be very "Disney". Could hardly tell we were at an "on site" hotel.

Don't get me wrong, we enjoyed our stay there, but if it comes down to money, I'd stay at the CCI. We are booked there this weekend.

I've satyed at both and would pick Candy Cane over PP any day. Now that being said it is just my hubby and I so if you have kids that might be different. Like a previous poster said, I just didn't get that "Disney" feel at PP and for the extra money to me it's not worth it, I'd rather spend the money in the parks or DTD. I actually like the walk to/from the Candy Cane unless my feet are killing me and then we take the shuttle.

If it were me and the price was similar then I would go with PPH... The walk is a couple of minutes closer (going via GC) also the pool is much better and the rooms are bigger (CCI has small rooms). Also I think you get all Early opening days if you stay on site rather than just one if you buy a multi day park Hopper. You can check out the walk times here:

Also PP is a hotel with internal corridors unlike the CCI which is more of a motel. Personally I thought the CCI was a little overpriced for what it is, Hojo's at the ent rate is excellent value with better facilities and internal corridors, I would stay less than a couple of minutes further walk away at one of the places on Katella and save 30 to 50% rather than stay at CCI...

Thanks so much for the inputs. Since the price for PP is $70/night more, we'll probably stay at the Candy Cane Inn.

Reasons why i might prefer PP over CCI:

- If i had kiddos in the 8-12 y/o range who LIKE to enjoy a cool pool / slide during mid day break.

- PP is an easier stop on my "normal" touring day. DL rope drop-hop to DCA-mid day rest-back to DCA-back to DL in evening.

- It's more immersive (though CCI is nice). And is a hotel as opposed to a motel.

- Easier to enjoy & access DTD & the GCH (since you're walking thru them twice a day).

- (& the main reason)....Magic Morning EACH Day offered. (to me worth $15-$20 per person)

I like them both, but it really depends on how one tours, how many days, what the kids like to do, & several other factors on if the PP is worth $20, $50 or $90 more per night for a family.

:)
