Off to Disneyland and staying at DLH in three weeks. I'm very curious about the 7:30 am power walking group.
Has anyone done this? It sounds like a great way to get in some km (miles!) before the day gets crazy

I think you usually have to forego the EMH due to the timing, which we never want to give up. One of these days I'll do it though.

It's 7am, 15 minutes, 1 mile. If there's an 8am opening and 7am EMH they must just have a route that starts near GRR and goes around Paradise Pier, with most guests going to RSR and TSMM and a relatively small number eligible for EMH anyway, I doubt it interferes. The question is, if there is an EMH at 7am, do you need valid admission. And if you have valid admission can you just stay in the park after the walk.

I've done it and it's great. It's a very brisk 2 mile walk around DCA. You have to stay on pace to be out before park opening. You don't need park admission, just have to be a guest of the DLR hotels.

No, you can't stay in the park after the walk. You exit after the walk and can re-enter properly with ticket.

Just in case you missed the previous post of mine, regarding my Auntie Gertrude and her infamous power walk of 2013 at DCA. My auntie Gertrude, who is now pushing 89, and is very proud of the fact that she does not need the assistance of a scooter or a walker, a cane or an old man, although she is pretty spry by keeping her eye open for the younger guys, like dudes in their sixties and seventies, with an added bonus in her book if they have all of their own teeth. but then man like that's a whole other story! :faint: Anyway, she took part in the DCA power walk without me because I can't get up that early in the morning! Especially not after spending a delightful evening singing some favorite show tunes of mine at Trader Sam's, whilst enjoying the various libations that pour freely from various bottles. ;)
Anyway, back to my Auntie Gertrude, so there she was, at the ready and then their off....auntie was in the lead, she actually by passed every youngin from the get go.
She did stop for a moment so as to literally smell the flowers, which turned out to be a bad idea, because there happened to be well a bee lol and it practically flew right up her left nostril.
:faint: Now she is allergic to bees. So when she had this most unsettling encounter with nature, she ended up bearing
off course, ran by Mickeys wheel of death, circled the carousel a couple of times, where she ended up at and most appropriate if you think about it, at bugs land. After that, she just kept on going and going, ran into the Hollywood Tower Hotel for a bit, then continued to run. Why by the time anyone saw her again, it was time for dinner. OMG! To this day she has not entirely told me of her most unplanned itinerary that morning.
So with that be careful out there!
