Does Disney allow power strips in rooms? All 4 of us are going to have cell phones that need to be charged and a couple of our cameras need to plug in to charge, we could definitely use additional outlets, but I don't want to overload the circuits or do something we aren't supposed to do.

We used one last year at the Contemporary. We actually had it sitting on the desk with our things plugged in. They didn't say anything if they aren't allowed. I never considered them not being allowed.

I have been bringing a power strip and extension cord for the last couple of years, it's on our WDW packing check list. You have to with all the electronic gadgets and battery rechargers:laughing:

We use them at the resorts and also onboard the ship. No one has ever said we couldn't.

Karen,
Since you are using the power strip for cameras and cell phone chargers, I do not see any problems. Both those items use very small amounts of current. Probably less than a single light bulb. If you were looking to use a hair dryer and a toaster oven, maybe you would have some problems. Enjoy your vacation!:cool1:

After getting soaked on Kali River Rapids, my wife did a power strip of her wet clothes.

Shouldn't be an issue. Matter of fact, CSR has a "strip" built into the desk for just such a purpose

I do take one, and specifically, this one called a "squid." I like it much better than a standard power strip because so many of the chargers/adapters are big and bulky and sometimes cover more than one outlet. I love this thing!

ETA: Available at Target!

I bring the squid too! Bought one last year for DD to bring to college and went back to get one for myself! I love having the power squid on vacation for our phone chargers, camera chargers, the kids's DS chargers etc. I hate clutter and having everything plugged in at the same place on the table makes it easier for me to keep track of it all.

At the GF, the power strip is built into the back of the desk. We had the computer, cell phone charge and camera charged plugged into it. Also the Mickey desk lamp was plugged in there too.
