Pound woes

The best rates for me for cash are usually the currency places in central London, then I can pickup the order on my lunch break.

Yep I do the same and that site does a comparison and I walk to the one with the best rate :)

I really hope it starts to improve soon.

Is it likely to improve in our favour because of the Us election?

I think it might settle down once the EU referendum is done. I don't think it matters which way the referendum goes, its the uncertainty thats the problem

I hope so! When will that be done? I dont keep up with politics. I know thats terrible!

We have been to O'Charleys twice now - great meals and service both times. I have been keeping an eye out for a restaurant.com voucher for this next trip but no luck - they well out so quick. Going to keep trying every day for the next 3 weeks ;)
Just had an email to say they have re-stocked.
Unfortunately I can't find any discount codes so the $25 is full price at $10 ($10 = $4)
I usually pay around $4-$5 for the $25 voucher.
They will no doubt release a code in next few days but its a gamble if they still have O'Charleys left.

Got to admit, this is one of the nice things about going to Canada this summer. I booked our Vancouver hotel the other night and got my credit card statement yesterday - 2.075 CAD to the £ :dogdance:

We still have to pay for parts of our Canadian holiday and the exchange rate is now slipping too. :( I hope that it will be better by August.

Too slow, only managed to get a couple of $10 ones. I had gift cards to use so no worries on the lack of discounts.

By the looks of it from my very un-scientific watching of the rate, it seems when they are piping on about the Referendum it goes down (last week down to $1.38).

Then on the flip side when the news is focused on the US election it goes back up. Seeing over the last couple of day as they've had super Tuesday its now back up to $1.40

With all this flip flopping I can see all of this making my head hurt. o_O:confused::scratchin

The only upside is I'll be out when the US election is taking place and if my crazy un-scientific theory pans out I'll be quids in lol :rotfl2:

All prepaid isvery tempting. We have always prepaid Cabana in £ in advance. I'm still finding netflights cheaper than staymoresavemore rate I can get with Universal direct for our dates.

I've booked the first 5 nights at cabbana on booking.com and so you don't pay until you get there.
They have only taken first night as deposit.
I'm so torn on what to do right now.

Could see if you can do Travel Republic, £1 deposit (on most rooms) and final payment in Pounds 8 weeks before you stay

We've booked with netflights this time paid in full in £ and last 2 times at cabana bay with Amoma, again paid in £ in full before we went. Have you checked your dates on trip advisor it compares prices. I also use trivago.

What do your kids fancy? My DD is 10 and very much Universal not disney now.

I've found trivago to be the best price comparison recently. Very good site

My boys will be 11,11,14 next trip, and also really enjoy universal, however they actually really like alot of the rides at Disney still too, and would be happy to do half a trip of each!
Which is why I'm torn, as I really love my disney trips, and feel like my holiday really starts when I get there.
We was going to skip it due to the construction and go bk when avatar is completed as my twins are crazy for it.
I just don't know if I can so a trip there without staying at Disney for a few days ok a wk lol

that makes perfect sense....once the referendum is done, i think the rate might start to improve a bit....
as for the US elections, no comment.....if i start i won't stop...

Trump winning the election is in the Worlds Top 10 Risks to the Global Economy.

If he gains enough momentum during the summer after Brexit Referendum we could see rates moving towards the favour of the Pound.
