Pound Puppy

My two year old DGD loves puppies. I thought I might get her a pound puppy for Christmas. I've passed them at Wal-Mart and listened to them whine. They're cute. I guess they work on batteries that will need to be replaced. Do they do anything except whine? Does anyone know where I can get a good deal on one? Thanks!

If the noise bothers you so much, why not just take the batteries out to begin with?? I know that in the store when there's 20 of them whining at you it's really loud and annoying, but maybe just one wouldn't be so bad?? I've seen them everywhere, so I don't think they're hard to come by this year, but I don't know of prices (sorry)...

They don't bother me. I didn't mean to give the impression that they bother me. I guess I didn't word my post correctly. I think they are cute.

My DMIL bought one for my DD for christmas. It did whine and bark when we stood in front of it. We happened to get ours on clearance at walmart back at the beginning of november. There are some deals out there, but they maybe scarce now. I would try big lots, and kmart has buy toy get one 1/2 off this week. Try those places. Btw I did not turn it off, I just covered the face in a plastic bag and it stopped making the noise.
