I was seeing C Ann's thread about dressing, and I have a recommendation for poultry seasoning,

I know that many here recommend Bell's.
I couldn't find it in stores here, so I even ordered some online to give it a try.

Then, because they were sold out of all the other regular brands, I picked up a, more expensive, fancy glass jar of SPICE ISLAND'S poultry seasoning.
I found this at Kroger.
I love it!!!!!

I find that many of these are really just a good percentage of black pepper.
First, I can add my own black pepper.
And, second... that much black pepper, to me... ugghhhh!!!

This Spice Island's is mostly the other herbs and spices.
I really like it. :thumbsup2

The store has a fresh herb bouquet specifically for poultry. It consists of sage, rosemary and thyme. I chop them up (along with parsley) into the dressing and add my own salt and pepper. I think the aroma from fresh herbs is soooo amazing. I do not use the spices from a jar at all.

I'm so used to Bell's - it goes back upteen years in my family.. It's all natural and has been around since 1867..:thumbsup2

Turkey/chicken/stuffing/poultry soups and other poultry dishes just wouldn't taste right without it.. (For me, anyhow - LOL..)

Looking on the box I have here, listed ingredients (in order) are:

Rosemary
Oregano
Sage
Ginger
Marjoram
Thyme
Pepper

and it's salt free..:)

Sorry you couldn't find it, but glad you found something similar that you like..:goodvibes

I can find poultry seasoning in the grocery stores here. I may even find at Big Lots, Wal-mart, Dollar Tree, and Family Dollar for cheap.

It's just that I couldn't find the Bell's around here, so I ordered some.

But, I just love the Spice Islands even better!

Oh I'm not criticizing your choice at all..:goodvibes I can vouch for the fact that when you're trying to find it in the supermarket (and probably not all of them carry it) it's not easy to find if you've never seen that particular brand before..

Hope you enjoy it! :goodvibes

I grew up with Bell's, but I do think it's a New England thing (or at least regional). I know it was hard to find here in PA until a few years ago.
