Do you have Pottery Barn furniture? How's the quality? My sister bought a couple of shelves there a few years ago thru catalog and had to fix them before she put them up.

I need new furniture soon and my girlfriend loves potterybarn but I'm a bit apprehensive. We've been pricing furniture at various stores and a PB catalog came last night and the prices were on par with the local furniture stores. Would you recommend their furniture (dining room set, bureas?)

I like the style of their furniture but I think it is very overpriced. Also, be aware of their shipping costs. They often run internet/catalog only sales but the shipping costs far outweigh any savings. Also, most local independent furniture stores will cut their prices if you ask. We saved a few hundred dollars that way when we bought family room furniture last year.

I don't have any, but my cousin has a few pieces and she is not very pleased. She bought a leather chair and ottoman, and the stitching on the chair started pulling away after only a few months. Also, one of the legs on the ottoman is very wobbly, and they haven't been real helpful getting these things fixed. The sofa that she bought at the same time is holding up so far. Hope this helps.

I've never bought furniture. We have a few lamps and my kids bedding is Pottery Barn. So far the bedding has held up great but one of the lamps didn't work. Sent it back, the replacement didn't work. Finally on our 3rd attempt, we got one that worked and it is fine. Sorry I can't help you more on furniture but just wanted to let you know that they had great customer service as far as replacing a defective item.
