I just wanted to day thanks everyone! My son was super excited to be able to get in today!
Thanks everyone for posting the clue and answer. It made it much less stressful when we finally got the opportunity to enter the site! He is sooooooooo happy!

SO glad I saw this because it's been a somewhat crazy morning and I completely forgot about it!!

Got in and am waiting on the email. Was a bit bummed when the site's help section said it could take up to several weeks. Hopefully it won't be that long.

Just so other people know...on facebook Pottermore posted that people are stealing other people's user-names and changing the passwords on them. They suggest you do not post the numbers at the end of your user-name just in case.

Thanks for that tip! I edited my earlier post. Man, would that ever suck to have someone steal your username after all the trouble getting in!!

ETA: What do you have to do when you get the email? Is it just like click on a link to finish the registration? It probably said and I just didn't read it. Ahh I want to see if mine worked!

Yep, you just click the link and it validates your account.

once you verify, it tells you to wait for the welcome email but it could take a few weeks.

A How To:

1. When the clue is posted for the day, solve it. Day 5's answer was 252. When you have the answer put it at the end of http://quill.pottermore.com/. So Day 5 read http://quill.pottermore.com/252
2. You will be directed to a website that has a quill to be found. Find the quill. For Day 5, it was in the ad at the top with a bunch of other quills, at the HP Scholastic website.
3. Once you find the quill, click on it.
4. You will be directed back to the Pottermore website where, given you are still eligible (like registration hasn't closed while you were trying to get the quill) you will be able to register.
5. It will ask for your birthdate, country you reside in, first name, last name, e-mail, password, and whether you've read the books/seen the movies.
6. After answering these questions, you will be on the list of magical students. Then you will be able to pick from 5 different usernames given by Pottermore.

We know that Harry Potter fans around the world are taking part in the challenge, so we will be varying the times that the clues are revealed. We can tell you that tomorrow’s clue (Day 6) will be released between 1:30pm and 4.00pm BST, and the final clue (Day 7) will be released between 12:30am and 3:00am BST on Saturday 6 August.

I agree-I gave up after yesterday--well I gave up before then because I wasn't getting up in the middle of the night to try and after trying shortly after it opened yesterday I figured, what's the point .
