DH is 6'5" and has put his hands up...the only place he could touch was in the blue and red tunnels. Now of course, I'm still a chicken and don't put mine up, but he still has his fingers.

That's always freaked me out too.. I usually end up ducking into the seat in space mountain.. I know there is enough clearance but just keep imagining smacking right into a support beam or something

dh did the last time we rode at DL. he was a bit.....intrigued because he DID touch something! didn't know exactly what, but just the thought that he did makes him think twice!

I love roller coasters and i put my hands up every chance i get on any coaster available. Rockin roller coaster at MGM, Kracken at Sea World, BTMRR at MK...I even put my hands up on tower of terror. But I will not...and I repeat will NOT put my hands up on Space MT. lol...I have this fear that my head and fingers will get chopped off if I dont duck and scrunch down in my seat as far as possible and dont keep all limbs inside the ride vehicle at all times

Me too! I'm only 5'7 and i easily touched it! I kept thinking about how everything seems so low in Space Mountain and of course I put my hands up and what do you know i touched the ceiling! Of course we were going 5 mph and more than likely it's the lowest part in the ride but everyone planning to ride Space Mountain don't put your hands up in the light tunnel because if you're any taller then me you could possibly hurt yourself

Good question...there's no such thing as a stupid question!

My friend used to be a CM at Space Mountain, and she once told me that she, personally, woudn't put her hands up. People have gotten hurt, as you can touch parts of the ride at times (as other posters have noted).

That's just her opinion...I don't either, if it matters.
