Carol, that is a really great picture! I feel the same way though: thought this would be a good picture to match but knew my sad Nikon point & shoot photo would be put to shame. :rotfl:

Thanks Carol. Your Wishes picture just like your other pictures, is very good. I believe you can mark that one as done on your bucket list. You are braver than I am to fight that crowd on Main St for the straight on picture.

Have a Wonderful Vacation !!!

This one is so pretty!:thumbsup2

Thank you! Fireworks are so hard to photograph, and I think everyone in this thread has done a great job. :thumbsup2

Here's a picture that's not so pretty, but I'm posting it because of the unique angle. It's "the Fan" as seen from the Top of the World Lounge. :)

Yep, I agree! But basically I've pretty much given up trying and just enjoy the show now! ;) (still feel awfully tempted to try tho!)

I so totally agree....I would love to meet up sometime with one of the pro photographers here on DIS who would help me improve my attempts to capture any fireworks.

I suspect I would need something more than a $200.00 P&S digital camera :upsidedow

I'm a P&S guy- cause it means I am always ready for the shot. In fact have just (finally) decided to pull the trigger on the Lumix FZ200 versus the Nikon 5100 with two lenses, both the same price for mainly that reason- and that the image quality is so close... and I'm not printing posters.

But have been shooting fireworks for years with P&S's of varying qualities, and though I usually forget in the excitement of the moment, two things I have learned is 1) drop down the exposure 1 or 2 points; and 2) go to manual focus, pre-set it and leave it.

I have not gotten into setting ISO and aperture and time, but I will be able to and working on that with the FZ200...

But meanwhile, that's something to start with and to at least some degree, it is the shooter more than the camera.

:)

Getting back to the subject, as seen from the far side of World Showcase Lagoon one night in Epcot!
