I just heard from a friend who's at Disneyland right now. She said the line for Pirates of the Caribbean has a three hour wait and extends all the way to Main Street USA.

I bet that wait will get even longer as the day goes on. I was so lucky to ride it yesterday as soon as it opened to the public (unofficially). Since most of the people in the line were true fans, each boat went out with LOUD cheers.

She didn't give any indication. She got in the POTC line as soon as she got through the gates, so she hasn't been able to visit anyplace else.

Three hours! Oh my!
I bet they are wishing they hadn't taken the fast pass out. (Or did disney put it back?)

Thanks! We are going tomorrow and I hope the pull to the PofC will help with crowd levels.

Wow! A 3 hour wait!!!!! That is crazy. Disney officals probably will think twice about taking a fastpass machine out of there again :) But I bet it would still be the same size line no matter what, they most likely would have ran out of tickets within the first couple of minutes the ride was open lol :)

Holy cats batman, from POTC to Main Street? So, let's see it extends back through Adventure Land, past the Jungle Cruise and Indy, past The Tiki Room, out into the Plaza and near Main Street! Now that's a really really long line!

I'm thinking about going back in June 2008, so I will ride it then. Maybe the hype will die down by then!! :rotfl:

We were going to go today but decided to drive down yesterday instead and take a chance it would be open. Glad we did! We only waited about 15 minutes around 7pm.

We're going tomorrow for our last visit before we move to GA on Saturday so I am really glad we got Pirates out of the way so we can focus on our other favorites.

I am very excited about the new pirates but I would not wait in a three hour line for any ride.

Sorry, Pirates is not open during EE. Only Fantasyland and Tomorrowland are open for EE (and not every attraction in those two sections is open). However, as soon as EE is about to end, just get over to the entrance of Frontierland (which will be blocked off) so that you will be one of the first people to enter that section of the park and make it over to New Orleans Square and Pirates. Good luck!

This is EXACTLY what I was thinking. Were going to have to do that to have a chance I think! LOL

I went on it Sunday evening after is had been closed for a few hours after having dinner at the blue bayou. The line was many thick, clear out to the river boat entrance area. It was very fast, they must have had every boat working and they were moving people along very fast, It was not 3 hours from that point. I think maybe 30 mins max we kept moving quickly along, rarely standing still and once in the regular queue area we almost requested to move even faster kind of running.

Now I won't give anything away, but it was very nice and I would say the sound systems also got an overhaul'n. I could really understand everything and I am one that has a hard time hearing with there are multiple sounds being sent out to the audiance at one time.

I would bet that lines will get shorter as the weeks go by and the word gets out about the changes they have made. Some will like them some will not. You yourselves will have to be the judges.

All I can say is enjoy the changes and enjoy the park as a whole.

While you are waiting in line have something fun to talk about. Talk with other guest in the park share your experiences, it will make the wait less gruling. Help each other out. The weather was very muggie I thought. But I'm from Nor Cal and it is 107 with out the humidity so that really tends to get to me.

FYI, they still have the grand stands up in the park so it felt very busy, the stands really made the walking flow hard. It looks like they are to be completely cleared out by Wednesday of this week because Fantasmic is to return Wednesday night.

Have fun at the Park pirate:

Lesley, I wished I was there with you cheering. Hee hee!! pirate:

I'm still going to check it out tonight. Wish us luck!

Reminds me of the early Indy days. The lines would be over an hour long immediately upon park opening. I expect long lines for awhile. Perhaps you regulars can keep us posted on the waits times through the summer. At least Prates has a high flow rate and I would expect relatively few stoppages.

We have pictures and a partial report on TNT:
