On Sunday, July 9 I'm going to Disneyland, and my favorite ride, due to its creativity and nostalgia, is PotC. What wait times can I expect, and are there any tips to avoid long lines?

First, July 8 is a Saturday. Second, the lines haven't been that bad, other than the first few days of operation. I've been seeing waits around 25 minutes for the most part (which is not bad for a 15 minute ride). Still, getting there before park opening and heading straight to POTC will ensure you get on with a minimum of waiting.

I am not sure what it is like now, but the first few days after opening when we were there, the line at opening was the worst of the day. By evening (7:00) the line was much shorter as well as more pleasant because it was not as hot. Just keep checking the information board throughout the day and when you find a 25 minute wait, go for it.

I just got back and the first day I was there the lines were 2 hours long, but that was the only time. On the other 3 days it was 10-25 minutes. I rode it repeatedly and learned that the cue line to the right is shorter by 5 minutes from the bridge. The left line goes back behind the building a bit.

I went on it yesterday morning, about 8:30 or so, and the line was probably 10-15 minutes. I am sure that by noon the line was extremely long, but the morning is very doable. :)

We were there last Saturday July 1st. It was early entry but we weren't eligible and didn't get there until 9a, headed straight to POC after picking up FP for Indy. Wait time only 10min. Had climbed to 25min a short time later. Rode it again during the first Fantasmic and the wait was less than 10min. Could have gone on again any time after that with little wait but dd didn't want to go again. Enjoy - we loved it!

July 4th never saw a wait over 30 minutes, despite the posted info booth time of 45. I suspect Sunday will be about an hour, with the AP crowd being out and all.

Glad to hear this - we're going in August and I really want to see it. If the lines are long, we'd have to pass since we don't have a lot of time at the park.

We were there on 6/26 and 6/27, lines were bad in the morning, most we waited was an hour, on 7/3 we got in about 8:15am, and the wait was 25 min, but the line moves fast, not too much standing around. The worst part was waiting on 6/26 about 9:30pm for about an hour, only to have the ride break down for the night.

Thanks for the info! Sorry that the ride broke down on you. It sounds like the wait might be somewhat reasonable then.

July 3, at 8:05 (after early Entry) we walked on - 5 minutes. Later in the day and night the long was very long. July 4, 15 min wait at 8:20. July 5 did at 11:45 and also was 15 minutes (and that was left line - which I agree seems longer). The line will be out into the walkway in freont of the bridge but moves fast. So go early and then if you want to do it again just check the line!
