POTC now showing on Disneyland.com as refurb

That is really a bummer for your trip! I know we had a trip once where Pirates was down, we survived but we sure were glad when we got to ride it the next time. Have a good trip, maybe they'll finish early or start late so that you can ride it once during your trip, I hope so!

I called yesterday to dining and they called BB who said they close if pirates close and they said they are NOT closed in feb or start of march and have not heard of any closure to POTC I made dinner ressies there for march.

POTC was closed to add jack sparrow when I took my dh there for the first time...was sad but lots of other things to do! I did miss BB though!

I'll put more stock in the website over some person in the BB.

Bummer, the hazard of off season I guess. This is a ride that if it were to close during our visit we would have to change plans.

I was totally bumbed, oh well! DD is 3 and POTC is a fun ride she is actually tall enough to ride! DH thinks it would scare her though. We have talked of taking her back in summer 2010 for her 5th birthday, so she can enjoy it then. POTC is one of my favs, so I am bumbed. But it has been rumored for quite awhile, so I have come to expect it.

With the calendar being buggy it's hard to put stock in it. To me if BB closes due to POTC being in refurb it would seem disney dining would not be taking PS for them, but many have been able to book for BB. Also last time we went BB was closed due to potc being in refurb.

:lmao: I never consider the Disneyland.com calendar as "official". :lmao: It's most often extremely unreliable. Sad, isn't it? :rolleyes1

I sooo agree with you there. The calendar has been nuts for over a month now, and only lists day by day. It had Haunted M listed as unknown opening not but a few days ago, same with matterhorn.

POTC is not on the Feb. refurbishment calendar now. It was Sunday and today it is gone. I am keeping my fingers crossed. We are going Feb. 21 - 28.

I have to say I am very happy that POTC is off of the calendar for now. We will be there 2/18-2/20 and in the 30 some years I have been going to DL, I can not remember a time when I did not ride POTC. I will be very sad if it is closed when we go.

I just checked the web-site and for Feb 15th and 16th in DL it says under Closed for Refurbishment: None at this time.

Where do you guys see that POTC will be closed?

You're looking in the right spot. It was listed starting Feb 15th but is no longer listed. In my PP when I called to make PS for dining I asked and the CM called BB where they said there has been NO mention of a closure, and the BB would be closed if POTC was down, and they are listed to be open per disney CM.

Uh huh . . . like I said. . . :rolleyes1

Wacky, crazy DLR calendar. I think the Mouse just likes to torture us with it. :lmao:

We were there on Monday and noticed two things missing in POTC. First the pirate that is with the kittens that says here kitty kitty wasn't there. Then the woman chasing the pirate with the rolling pin wasn't there either. When I asked a CM he said that they were on vacation and their honeymoon. I wonder if they are starting some refurbs early.

Woohoo! So glad it is gone for our trip! We are headed down during Mid-Winter break for DD, and many of the school districts in WA, I wonder if with Presidents Day weekend and that they decided to put it off until after the busy week? We will see, but for now it is open during my trip!!

Does anyone have the link to the refurb schedule? Specifically I'm interested in what rides may be closed for the season (if there is such a thing) or scheduled for refurb in March....I've looked and looked and I just can't seem to find what I need (although this is not new to me. ;) ).

Thanks!
