POTC novalities: why no gold coin necklaces?

After watching and falling in love with the Pirates of the Carribean movie, my kids and I were so excited to get to the gift shop on our last trip and purchase a gold coin necklace, just like the one that Will Turner wore. But alas, no necklace on our shopping adventure after the ride.

Just wondering why Disney didn't or couldn't take advantage of this novality item. I would have thought it would be a big seller for them. Anyone have any insight?

Good point! This year at MNSSHP I planned to buy pirate things at POTC first and have a semi-costume. I assumed I would find some good stuff, real pirate looking things. All they had was hats with Mickey or Goofy ears or just the plastic hats. They had nothing that seemed worth the price for a real costume. I agree that they should use stuff from the movie in the gift shop.

I guess I am NOT ALONE in wanting this necklace..I will be ordering one and wearing it, as soon as they are in stock..thanks so much!!!

Will anyone else be wearing it now, or just keeping it for costume wear..I think it is a pretty neat necklace myself...

When I was a kid there used to be a machine at POTC that you could have your name imprinted onto a gold dubloon. Does anyone else remember that souvenir?
