POTC - it is different?

We just got back from our trip and the people in our group noticed that the wonderful smell that we have long associated with POTC is gone. Please tell me others have noticed this as well or are we just crazy?

We rode POTC many times when we were there a few weeks ago.
We noticed early in the day the fog in the ship-cannon fight zone wasn't too bad. However, when we went on the ride later in the evening the fog was so thick you could hardly see. It made it hard for me to breathe. The musty and wet smell was thick....

New Pirate Smell? Is that like New Car Smell? I sense a new product line coming.

We too have always loved the humid air, and always breathe in deeply whenever we turn the corner to go into the building. We live in a dry climate, and this unique smell is wonderful to us! I love the smell of pirates! POTC, that is.

Personally, I honestly do love the smell of "pirates" and the smell of the pirates ride. I'm looking forward to riding it on our upcoming trip. It was being refurbed the last time we visited.

The smell was not as strong for sure, and another thing we noticed is that the ride is much DARKER. We couldnt even see the hidden mickeys on the armour at the end of the ride. You can see the armour, but no details.
Kinda bummed.

Hmmm, that smell is one of the reasons I don't really do POTC anymore (I have horrible allergies and that mold smell scares me, besides making me a little sick). When we went last May my son (then almost 3) said, "What's that smell" and crinkled his nose for the rest of the ride.

We went on the POTC last Friday and Saturday. The area where the ship is fighting with the port had a lot more fog. Almost to the point that you could not see anything unless you where right in front of it. That man made fog does have a strange oder to it.

Count me in for smelling Mr. Depp. Orlando is too young for me.
I thought I was going blind 3 weeks ago when we rode the POTC ride. The fog area was really "fogged" up.
