POTC doing soft openings

Yeah, I did miss the talking skull on the first part of the ride, and the parrot on the outside of the building. Darn. It would have been nice had they just moved them. But I did not see them at all.
Stroller parking was ALL outside too. The entire inside court was the que area. The line really did move faster than I thought it would. Even as long as it was we were just in line 20 minutes.
But the outside walk area sure was clogged up with stroller city.

I absolutely *HATE* the fact that they took the tattooed bird out of the queue area. It was one of the little perks that made it special.

We rode it today also, around 6pm......When my kids and I saw people heading into the attraction we ran right over and couldn't believe our luck. I did have a sneaking suspicion that it would have a soft opening and was so happy.

Right when we got into the boat there was some sort of shut down and we literally waited in the loading dock for 5 minutes. Then right past the skeleton scene and before the fog effect, there was a CM standing in there....scared us to death . My son said, is that an animatronic, lol. Because of the shut down the boats were backed up and our boat literally ran into the boat ahead of us right before it went down the drop.

I posted this in another forum, but I'll post it here also. Did anyone else think the drop seemed slightly longer or were we just imagining things.

Jack sparrow looked so real and the sound was excellent. We were all ducking when the cannons were blasting, they did a great job in this area. Many items that the characters are holding look new and shinier or fancier.

Can't wait to ride again.

my little boy when he was 1 1/2 loved that parrot. he would dance and sing along with the scurvy bird.
I have always thought they should replace the skull with Murray the evil skull from the Monkey Island games. Ummmmhhhmmmwhaaaaaaaaa! (incase you don't know, he was a very funny and somewhat annoying talking skull that would show up at some point in the games)
It all sounds so great. I can't wait until Dec.

Watch it with the quicktime player. It did that for me when I tried to open it with Winamp.

Those pics look fantastic. Can't wait to ride it.

Sad about the parrot though, my DD always stands outside and has a conversation with it. I have some cute pictures from past trips...........she has always thought the parrot was real, not AA.

I rode it today and really enjoyed the changes. I am not a fan of change or Johnny Depp but thought the additions enhanced the ride. The new special effect at the beginning was great.

I will have to ride it a few more times to catch all the changes in the script but Captain Jack was interesting. I also noticed the dog has changed.

2 thumps up to Disney for the changes. I took a few pictures at the beginning of the ride but put down the camera so I could enjoy the ride.

I noticed the dog change also......I think I like the old dog better. The old version of the dog still makes a few appearances throughout the rest of the ride though.
