I want to do the fill a box/bucket of potato head parts at either Mickey's toontown or Once Upon A Toy in DTD or both:thumbsup2 I saw it the last time we were there but can't remember how big the box is. Does anyone have any pics of the box, filled or unfilled? ANy pics of the area itself so I can get an idea of the parts offered? Thanks

Found this on the web:

The boxes are folded flat and stacked on each side of the PlayDoh pillars.

What it holds depends on what you get;

~between 15-25 noses, ears, eyes, hands, and smaller hand held items.

~between 5-10 hats, crowns, and helmets.

I saw a real good pic of parts offered on another thread. I will search for that and post a link.

The boxes seem fairly small. They're about the size that one fully outfitted potato could stand in. But we were able to fit much more than we thought into one.

We went around and picked out all the pieces we wanted and then sat down in an empty corner of the store. We set out all the pieces into "definitely" and "maybe" piles and then let DH carefully pack them into the box. We were able to fit everything except maybe two of the awkward/large "maybe" pieces. We did make some trade-offs when selecting because the kids wanted the maximum number of pieces (for example, they got the dumbo ears instead of the dumbo ride car).

We're really looking forward to getting another box full during our upcoming trip.

Make sure to buy a potato head at home if you don't have one already. He takes up A LOT of room in that box. I was able to get quite a few pieces in a box. If you get a couple of the bigger pieces, make sure you try and get a lot of the smaller pieces all around it in the box. I think some of the larger pices have "openings" where I would put some of the smaller pieces also. Here is a link to a website that has some good pics.......

I know that some of the CM's will let you buy the bigger pieces for like $2 if you buy a box full of parts...this is how I got my Dumbo ride car. I am not sure if they still do that or not.

I can't wait to see what's new this year!!! :cool1:

The kids are playing with them now...

We counted 31 pieces that we know we got at Disney. (We just got the one box)

11 of them are fairly large: teacup ride, donald's bill, dumbo ears, ariel hair, minnie bow, and hats... sorcerer, minnie princess, goofy, peter pan, mickey ears, pirates

the rest are smallish: two sets of arms, balloon, cookie sheet, pirate eyes and hook, pizza, ice cream, pretzel, autograph, name tag, suitcase, lanyard, glasses, guitar, Buzz ride gun

Thanks for the tip. I'll have to ask. We wanted that piece, but it took up 1/3 or more of the box. The CMs were very friendly. When we went to the counter to pay, she asked if we got the mickey glasses and ice cream and then went and grabbed an extra of each and tossed them on top. :goodvibes

Thank you so much to everyone that has responded. i am so excited about going there and getting lots of parts. I think I'm going to set aside an extra $20 so no one has to use their money. It will be for all to do and share. My husband is ready for the challenge, lol. He did a similar thing with the older 2 at the lego store when they had a special for little lego guy parts and accesories. He broke a couple of pouches in the process but we got a lot of parts, lol.

Thank you very much Jason ( I know your wonderful wife Amanda), those are great pics!

You are welcome.

We got our DS a big potato head parts holder. It's a potato head-shaped, clear plastic bucket. It was about $40-50, but it held almost every piece they had. It is still used by both children today. It was a good buy, but I don't know if they sell it anymore.

It's good to hear that the large container holds almost everything. I was already thinking about getting that one but I wasn't sure if it was worth it or not, didn't know how much it would really hold. I will go ahead and budget for that then. The kids will have fun filling it up I'm sure.

Also there are some very large pieces that don't exactly fit. You can buy larger pieces separately and pay an extra 2 dollars. I think my final total was 42.99.
