postponed trip - what happens to free dining and flights?

Hey all,
Unfortunately we are having to postpone our trip until next year. While I'm obviously disappointed I was wondering what happens to our Free Dining and flights if we push it back exactly one year - will they transfer as well or will we lose out? To date we've only paid the £200 deposit and an extra £200 when we added flights.

I've tried looking this up but the info is very US specific and I want to manage expectations before I make the dreaded call.

Your booking confirmation should have many pages of terms and conditions which should hopefully explain all your options!

I don't have the booking confirmation as I didn't make the booking, hence I'm asking. No worries I'll find out when I call, people here just tend to more knowledgeable.

i did read it at the time, but it's so convoluted, i didn't understand it and don't know the answer to your question...
i suspect the only people who will know the answer - maybe - are those at the other end of the dreaded call..

yeah but who ever reads the t and c's!!!
i know i didn't (sadly)...

I didn't before, but I've been able to check stuff since as the info is all there on my confirmation. Pages and pages of it.

OP, I'm not sure how to help because I don't understand. If you haven't made a booking, why have you paid money?! If you have booked, you should have got a document from whomever you booked with as part of your confirmation. Direct with Disney it was included with my invoice when I paid my initial deposit for reference. I might just be being really tired and stupid (just finished a pantomime run!)

We have made a booking, but the booking is for myself, my partner and then my mum and her husband. She made the initial booking so has the documentation but I'm the one who has been tasked with changing it.

We've paid the standard deposit plus a second £200 deposit when we added in flights. Im hoping the flights/ free dining will be transferable as it would be a bummer to lose £200 plus our free dining (making the whole thing more expensive in the long run).

We had to cancel our trip last summer due to DHs ill health and our inability to get affordable travel insurance. The lovely Disney CM I spoke to offered to transfer our booking lock stock and barrel to this year however given that we weren't sure we'd be any better off this year as far as travel insurance was concerned I declined. When I was cancelling, this year's free Dining/Gift card offer had been announced so was available. Not the case so far this year. We hadn't booked flights though so no idea about them. We have managed to get affordable travel insurance this year (thanks Nationwide) and so are booked for end of June :)

In case anyone is searching for this later, here's what happened. We moved the trip back a year and changed resorts as it's just myself and my partner now.

We got charged £300 for flight cancellation, plus £50 per person amendment fee. These fees were mostly absorbed by the deposit we already paid (£400).

When free dining 2018 is announced we'll be able to add that to our booking (which was done as a new booking as I'm now lead booker).

We'll have to rebook flights when they go live but we've changed the dates so it's not in half term and also a Wednesday flight over a usually more expensive Friday one.

And we got an upgrade to pool view!

So you do lose flights and promotions, but the promotions can be re-added when they go live for the new year. Hope that helps someone in my situation.
