Posting to old threads - not allowed

I've been seeing a LOT of new people posting to the DIS.

Welcome.

But please be aware that you shouldn't post to a thread that's more than
a week or so old. Many of the replies to old posts don't make sense to
current VMK issues.

Case in point: Someone mentioned how long the heart chairs will be on sale
in a post from February. By bumping the thread for today, it will confuse
players into thinking heart chairs might still be on sale. They aren't.
They were only for sale in February.

Please don't respond to threads close to a month old or longer.

oh! thanks for the clear-up briar! I was going to say, if heart chairs were still on sale, i'd be going straight to the shops! . I didn't even notice the dates!

When I see a thread that has info that seems outdated, I always look at the first post to see when the thread started.

Always pay attention to when the thread was started and there will be little or no confusion.

I think the problem lies in the "related threads" box at the bottom of the page. Often those threads are really old, but it's easy not to notice the date, and click on them and reply.

It's a really good reminder to look at the date at the beginning of the thread.

So glad you posted this, Briar, but obviously people still aren't reading or noticing.....

I was upset to see Irish's OBNOXIOUS thread bumped to the top this morning. Arg!
