Posting points to rent on DVC Rent/Transfer Board

Am I understanding it correctly that I cannot post on the DVC Rent/Transfer Board, even with a paid subscription, unless I have been a member for 6 months? Thanks!

There are paid plans for newer members. They cost more if you have not been a registered member for a minimum of 6 months. You cannot buy a Silver membership if you're new to the boards.

That is not how I read the rules. Since you have not been a member for 3+ months you would have to purchase a Gold, Platinum or Premium plan.

You also are required to have 10+ posts to use the PM system.

No. Only owners who do not meet certain criteria need to purchase a plan. But as a new Disboard member, you will need at least 10 posts before you can use the private message system.

Thank you. So much has changed since I was a DVC member 6 years ago. It's been that long since I've been to DW and it's very overwhelming.

You will need at least 10 non-Rent Transfer posts to communicate with the DVC Member, as emails, and phone numbers are not allowed to be posted on the boards. You will have to use the Private Messaging system. Until you have 10 posts, you can only use it to communicate with DISBoard staff. Then you can post a reservation wanted into an existing Points for Rent thread, we do not allow freestanding "reservation wanted" type threads.

Are the 8 posts and 50 posts different (from bullet point 2 and 3)? The rules are a little confusing (to me).

You mean the 8 posts per month vs 50 posts total over 6 months? No they are the same. For instance, you could have 8 posts in Months 1, 0 posts in month 2, 8 posts in month 3, 8 posts in month 4, 26 posts in Month 5 and 0 posts in month 6 and still post for free.

Thank you. So it mean a poster will have to post at least 8 times in a month for at least 4 months, which will mean 32 posts over 6 months. However, somehow the poster will have to have an additional 18 posts somewhere within those 6 months over the requisite 8 posts per month.

Does it matter where on disboards the postings are? As in, can it be in the Universal section or the Budget Board?

That is correct on the post counts, and no, it does not matter which board. The only ones that do not count are Private Message and posts on the Rent/Transfer Board. And the post count months are to the day of the month, like the DVC Booking Windows.
