posting pictures

hi.. i want to be able to share my pictures on the board, but all the photo sites i use require a sign in for people to view them. can anyone tell me what the best and easiest one is to use? thanks

I do not think you can link from webshots. I have a webshots page and i have never been able to link to the DIS from there.

If you just want a place to show off your pics on line and not be able to bring them over to other sites (like this) they are very easy.

I think a lot of people use photobucket and shutterfly.

Many here use, as mentioned, www.imagestation.com or www.photobucket.com . I also like www.worldzone.net where for a $12 annual fee, you do get linking, 100 meg account and good tech support. Give them a look. The DIS used to have a Photo Gallery, but it has been busted for quite a few months.

Ok, I'm a retard. I signed up for imagestation and have uploaded the images. Now, can someone take me step by step on how to put one in a thread?

open imagestation and click on the picture you want to post. This will open another window with a bigger picture.

Right click on the picture and click on properties.

Highlight the entire section that says address, then right click on it and click copy (or ctrl+c)

Come back to the disboards, type your message, and click the IMG button above the message box.

Paste the address of the pic in the dialog box by right clicking on the entry box and click on paste (or ctrl+v)

Click OK. The pic should then have an IMG in front of the address and an /IMG at the end of it enclosed with the [] signs.

A website I use is http://www.imageshack.com

They are a free hosting service and you just upload your pics and they'll print out the address out automatically. Nice when you just want to do quick uploads.
