Posting Pictures????

ok, I finally am going to ask for help. how do you post pictures into threads? there were a couple of instances where I would have loved to post some but I didnt know how. is there a previous thread that explains it?

are these pictures that you have taken and have on your computer or are they pictures that are posted on another site?

they are pictures that I have taken with my digital camera and are currently on my computer. I have tried to copy and paste but it doesnt work
