Postcards? Where to Buy?

Hi All!

Head to DL in just over a month and have a question about... postcards! I have a little hobby called Postcrossing and anytime I go somewhere cool, I stock up on postcards. So I have a few questions.

Where's the best spot to buy postcards in the park? How much do they typically cost?

I also read that if you take the cards to city hall, they will "stamp" the card as being "postmarked" from Disneyland, since there is no true postmark from Disneyland any longer. Is this still the case? I don't want to wait at City Hall for something that is no longer done. Advice?

I think they sell books of postcards at a couple of locations on Main Street and a few individual cars as well. The last time I looked, I recall seeing some at the Photopass shop at the end of Main Street. I don't recall the price, but I remember thinking they're getting pretty pricey.

I've had good luck finding postcards at Pioneer Mercantile. They used to sell them at World of Disney, but I haven't found them there in awhile. I've been told that Emporium and Elias & Co/Five & Dime don't sell them. Carsland used to have their own postcards, but everywhere else in the resort sells the same generic ones. They're kind of expensive, like $1.25-$2.75 each, and there's usually only about 4 cards to choose from. The books of cards are a little better value if you want a bunch of cards. They also don't sell stamps in the parks anymore, so bring those. City Hall doesn't stamp postcards in DLR, but I've heard they used to do it in WDW.

You may also find postcards at the gift shops, hotels and restaurants on Harbor and Katella.

There are usually some at that little kiosk to the right as you enter the park.

Well that's disappointing. Expensive AND I can't get a "stamp" at City Hall? I know mail is a dying method of communication, but some of us still like to send hello's through the mail!

We found some at the Main Street Camera Shop (only 4 or 5 to choose from if I remember correctly) and some at the Curios shop in Carsland. My mom brought stamps for us to use. The cards were pretty pricey. Sad, because I love postcards from different places.
