I'm on Long Island in NY and the lowest for 12/23 or 24 is 139.00 returning 1/1 154.00, not great. always got 99.00. I have RR certificate & cannot use it for this time. Did SW always blackout dates? I thought they did not do that. It is always more expensive from NY makes me dislike living here even more, and yes I am a native NYer, but hate it here. Cannot afford to live when you "try" to live in NY.

I wanted to fly out of/in to Houston Hobby since I only live 20 minutes from Hobby but fares were higher than I wanted to pay - $148.10/each way. I looked at Dallas Love and it was only $78.70/each way even though at least 2 of the flights stop in Houston! So, it was $69.40 cheaper/way/person to fly MCO to Dallas with a stop in Houston than to just get of off Houston. We have family in the Dallas area so we'll just drive up there and leave my car at their house.

Anyway, I got 3 RT tickets from Dallas for only $472.20. Would have been 893.10 out of Houston. The savings of $420 is worth the 4 hour drive to Dallas. If prices come down some to around $100/each way, I'll probably go ahead and switch to Houston but as of now, it's Dallas!

That's what I paid for three tickets out of Houston/Hobby and used two free tickets. I was so surprised that there weren't any internet fares from Houston! Hopefully a "Ding" will come out before then - Dec 5-11.

I got $59 flights to & from Orlando at the end of October, returning November 3.

There are 5 of us, but we had to round trip rapid rewards tickets. I paid $415which includes tax for the 5 of us round trip. :cool1: I have paid over that for one ticket in the past!

Plus with the exception of 2 $59 fares, we used credits that we had, so I didn't have too much current out of pocket expense this time around.

It will be a deluxe/budget trip for us this trip. We're using our DVC points for DH & I to stay at the BCV when we arrive & then DD's are meeting us there for the remainder of the trip. We'll then move to the BWV on points. We already have AP's, so it's just spending money for us!!! I can't wait! :cool1:

Keep checking the fares numerous times a day. I have a trip booked for DD & myself for a dance conference at the Dolphin in August. I originally paid about $119 each way. The fares changed daily, sometimes more than once a day. In one day it went from $119 to $106 to $101. I changed my flights each time for the credits.

I am now paying $59 each way & just used some of those credits for our October/November trip.

Well, folks, I'm holding out for awhile........I need 5 tix from PHL to MCO for 1/1 thru 1/8.......it's currently 99$ each way......totals $219 and change pp rt.......I've gotten much better from PHL...........even when gas prices were sky high I only paid $139 rt on SWA..........I'll be happy if I can get $189 total pp rt.

I also was holding out for PHL....I fly 3 times a year at least and never paid more than $64 on SW.

Saw BWI had $49 fares at good times so I booked them. Adds about 45 minutes to our drive, but saved us $500 from PHL. I will continue to watch Philly and rebook if the prices come down.

Nothing below $99 each way from MDW. I'll stick w/ ORD. Same price and much closer to home.

The prices from Baltimore are great. We are in DE so we normally fly out of Philly but almost all of the flights to/from Philly are $99. We will drive to Baltimore for that price difference! I'm not sure why this it is this way this go around - there is not normally much of a difference between Baltimore and Philly.

Just saw your post after I posted. We took the plunge and did BWI....I am calling it our insurance policy and worst case scenario which isn't really bad at all!

I don't normally buy tickets the day they are posted as I usually get them cheaper later. But, I saw $89 stl-mco on jan 8 so I went ahead and booked. They don't have our return flights back yet for Jan 16, but I figured if the flight out went down in price, I could use the ttf to buy the return when those are released. I see from june-jan, the cheapest stl flights are $82, but not on a fri/sat which is what we need, so I'm thinking this may be as good as it gets.

I got $149 from Pgh to Orlando on 11/29 (It's on a Sunday so it's more expensive I guess)

I was gritting my teeth a little when I read other days and cities much cheaper, but boy am I glad I booked when I did....2 hrs after I got these they went up to $224!!!

Our return trip I got $79 each on 12/7 so pretty happy with that. Now the obsessive daily checking to see if either go lower.....

On a side note....I don't post often but i read the boards a lot. Good luck to you all finding your fares and I hope eveyone has a great trip!!!!

4 rt tix from Milwaukee to MCO, for November, $570. That's $142.20/ticket!

I hear ya City of Champion neighbor.

I just got home from work and ran to the computer. Our ressies are actually from 11-29-12-5, but it was so much cheaper to fly down on Saturday (still not really that cheap though. I paid $134.00 o/w x4 PIT to MCO on 11/28. If I would have flew down on the 29th it would have been $360.00 more.

Returning flight is much better. $79.00 o/w x4. Grand Total x4 is $936.00.

I've definetly got better fares, but I guess I'm happy because AirTran and USAirways are so much more expensive.

you can rent a car for around $50.00 total. it's only about a 3 hour drive up the coast. 215 miles

I thought of that....However, I am travelling with a child with a scooter who had a chronic/fatal illness and I wanted someone else to have the stress!:rotfl: I am a single parent travelling alone this portion of our trip....

Also when you factor in insurance and gas, there isn't much difference. Plus I'm there in an hour!

Hi neighbor! Bethel Park here :)

Well I guess we can hope for fares to lower as we approach November. Although that weekend being after Thanksgiving holiday....probably won't hold my breath. But you're right--could be much worse!

Just booked for 11/3 and return on 11/9 from PHL to MCO. $79 down and $119 back. Total w/fees & taxes for 4 was $876.80.

I think it may go down but I'd rather have it done. I'll check each day and try to get a credit.

I got $99 each way from PHL to MCO and back 12/5 to 12/8. Non-stops, and pretty good times, so I booked them. I was looking on Air Tran last night, and they had one for $79 coming back, but by the time you pay the baggage fees, it is only $5 less, so I booked the SW and am now dreaming of Dings!!

That's the thing, when you factor in extra baggage costs & then the fact that there is a change fee I prefer SW. I can change at any time with no penalty if I want & get a credit if the fare goes lower.
