We are looking at doing a lunch reception at the attic and as we won't be able to having a tasting session I am relying on you guys!

So please let me know what your favourite lunch/dinner buffet items are?

My menu tasting list was huge, lol. I chose a carved herb crusted beef and a parmesean crusted chicken.

I loved the mahi-mahi with limoncello beurre blanc...and I'm not a big fish person! Also, the filet with blackberry demi was awesome. Both of those ended up on our plated lunch.

We also tasted sonoma goat cheese ravioli from CG, which is always awesome. In our opinion, the chicken offerings got a little dried out when served in mass quantities.

I tried several different delicious things when I went here recently.
Here are a few pictures of what I tried with descriptions. I highly recommend each and every one of them!!

This was my favorite of the appetizers! It was a blue cheese meatball wrapped in bacon with a fantastic citrus mustard dipping sauce.

This was another of our appetizer choices. It is a breaded mix of beef and mushrooms. I am not a fan of mushrooms and absolutely love how this tasted!

This was the last of the appetizers. It is the well known crab cakes. It had the same dipping sauce as the meatballs. I don’t eat fish and enjoyed every last bite of this!

This was the first of the salads. Field Greens with Mandarin Oranges, Toasted Sesame Seeds and Shaved Ginger and Soy Ginger Asia Inspired Dressing. The dressing was fantastic!

This is one of the best things I tried at the taste testing. It is the other salad option. It is real mozzarella and tomato slices with fresh basil and balsamic reduction. The mozzarella balls were absolutely phenomenal! It was called the Mediterranean Pasta Salad with Sundried Tomatoes, Olives and Artichokes.

We were offered two warm dishes in between the salad and the main dish. I forgot to get a picture of the first one. It was a martini dish filled with creamy mashed potatoes. The potatoes were then topped with sour cream, cheese, chives and bacon. It would be set up in a buffet scene with each person putting on them what they wanted.

Although not the prettiest presentation it was definitely a yummy treat! It is creamy Parmesan and Goat Cheese Risotto topped with Pork Osso Buco and Gremolata.

This was the main course. It was presented on one plate but had two options. It was the Two pepper Rubbed Beef Strip Loin with Sweet Onion Sauce served with warm bakery breads, mustard mayonnaise and horseradish cream. It also had Parmesan Crusted Chicken with Mushroom Cream Sauce. It included baby carrots and grilled asparagus.

Finally was the dessert which we chose to not go with. It was so fabulous.
It was a European pastry display. Starting from the left was Opera Cake, Cream Puffs, Chocolate Canolis, Mini Cheesecakes and Tiramisu.

I hope this helps you with your food choices! I know they were all absolutely fantastic. Let me know if you have any questions!!

If you wouldn't mind sharing I would be interested to know what you choose and what pp price they quotes you for, It would be really nice to get an idea of how much the pp price for a buffet will cost.

I actually have all of the above foods on my menu except for the crab cakes and the dessert platter since we are having a cake. I was given the price of $80 pp.

The menus all sound so unusual and so its a little worrying to see what it is actually like but if it tastes good who cares what its called!
$80pp isn't too crazy and seems like you got a lot! thanks for the input

My favorites from our dinner were the flatbread appetizers (bbq chicken and kalamati olive) from a Jiko's recipe and the spice-crusted cornish game hen from a Sanaa recipe. The great thing about the hen is that it doesn't dry out like chicken breast, being a dark meat. Our families weren't big on strange foods, but we were, so we compromised by using familiar meats with fun recipes.

The biggest hit at our reception was the Truffle Mac and Cheese, and the Parmesean Goat Cheese Risotto!YUM!! We also had a carving station with strip steak that was excellent...oh and the parm crusted chicken!!!
