Post your Disney Jar pic here, please

We're using a popcorn bucket from our May '10 trip. It's got Mickey wearing the director's costume, I picked it up at Hollywood Studios on our second day because I realized already that our "once in a lifetime" trip was NOT going to be once in a lifetime! :)

My "share" of the savings is that every day I bring my lunch/breakfast to work instead of eating out, I put $5 in it. My goal right now is $50 a month, which means I'm bringing my lunch half the time. I know I can do better than that, but that's what I needed to hit my goal for our planned 4/2012 trip.

(We won't go until we've saved up to pay for the trip in cash, we don't put anything on the credit cards other than emergencies that are immediately paid off out of general savings.)

It is sitting on our mantle next to a photoframe of DH, DD, my MIL, SIL and BIL in front of Cindy's Castle.

My daughter is going to put 1/2 of any babysitting money she earns in it, and my husband is doing his own savings plan.

(Also, I asked for $ from my husband to go into the Disney Fund Bucket rather than a present for my birthday this year, because I don't need more STUFF, but I do need to go to Disney again!)

We have one of the big water jugs too - I bought a few packs of Disney stickers at the Dollar Tree and had the kids "decorate" it.

Mine is an old apple juice jug (maybe 1 1/2 gallons?) - when they were made of glass! We started it for our honeymoon (18 yrs married this week :flower3: so it's about 19 years old) I took a Disney brochure and cut out a bunch of images that were special to us for that trip and made a collage by gluing the pictures all over the jug. Must have been some glue! 19 years later and 90% of the images are still on there. We have used the jar for our last 2 trips as well as other vacations. There are pictures of Caribbean Beach resort where we would stay for our honeymoon, Mouse ears with 1992 on it, Our names cut out of letters from the brochure, pictures of each park, pleasure island, typhoon lagoon, a bottle of champagne, a couple walking in the sand at sunset, etc.

Love the jar! :thumbsup2

Those of you using glass containers, please be careful! My cousin and his family were saving change in a glass container. When he picked it up, the bottom broke off and nearly sliced his foot in half. He had to get tons of stitches. It was touch and go for a while but they were able to save his foot.

Here is mine. Still some time to go but we have a lot of quarters there. Saving for our December trip.

Man, that's terrible! Our change "jar" is an old laundry detergent jug. Cut a slot in the top. I just leave it in the laundry room & hopefully if anyone breaks in, they'll just think it's a bottle of Tide. And it has a nice handle to carry it in to the bank when it's time to cash it in. Though I did get a few crazy looks the first time or two I carried it in to the bank.

I Love this idea! We use the same jar I have had for a long time - but it says "wedding fund" it has a cork lid and I steal DH change everyday and out it in the jar. I also get Disney cards so they will not get spent on something else. I am planning to make a new jar that the kids can help fill. Maybe we will do that as soon as we come back from this trip - We check-in on Halloween!

Straight from Club Cool! We've been saving since the end of August 2009. The bank is about two feet tall. Couldn't get our pic to post, so I got this image from the Coca Cola store. Our change stash is about half way between the bottom and the Coca Cola writing. Maybe about a quarter of the way full :yay:

We had been wanting to get the bank for several trips. Since we took the car the last time we were able to get it. It was the only souvenir we got ourselves

That is exactly what ours looks like, except it is the smaller version.

I bought a Stitch cookie jar on our trip in 08 and we use that as our trip jar, I have since broken stitch's head but we still use it, I recently bought both of my granddaughters a Mickey pumpkin head cookie jar from the Disney store for their birthdays that are coming up as their own trip jar.

Giant Vlasic pickle jar from BJ's Wholesale Club. I used one of my Mickey head pancake molds as a template on one side and then just lettered the rest. It's currently also doctored up with a bunch of Disney stickers.

We have a jar that appears the same size as yours that we've filled a couple of times. Last time it was filled only with Quarters, and weighed 39 pounds. $752.25 worth.

We use one of the Mr Potato heads (the ones you fill up with pieces at the park) works pretty good!

This thread (coupled with my sister telling me she had saved over $600 by saving her change) inspired me to make a Disney jar for our next trip. Its a heavy glass vase with Disney pictures attached- I will have to take a picture tonight and post...the kids helped and then ran all over the house looking for loose change :cutie:
this is not for "this" trip (we leave in 5 days) but the next trip -maybe 2012... God willing! :goodvibes

I love all the containers - and very inspiring! Time to get busy again saving change for our March 2011 trip!!! And I love, love, love the gift card idea. DH likes to rob our jar too - mainly for school special snacks, etc.

I don't have a big jar, but I keep a little Disney bank in my laundry room for all found change. It's this one:
