pwcarlson,

It is exactly the same code. I called yesterday and a CM explained that they released two codes, one for newspapers, tv, etc, and another for internet. They give you exactly the same rates.

Yesterday morning at 7:00am I called to have the new code applied to my reservations, I was told that there was no discounts availiable for my dates at Wilderness Lodge...I changed to AKL and recieved the great rate of $119.00 for a standard view, all night I worried about changing resorts and at 3:00am this morning I came to the CP and saw where Disney had released a new code BAF so I called CRO this morning to check on my dates back over at Wilderness Lodge...the CM checked and yes she said she had the WL availiable with woods view with the original code AZZ for $132.00 a night....so even though I didn't get standard room (my original request) I saved $298.54 over original reservations and now have a better view...So please try again if they said they didn't have any discounts for your dates or resorts...

I agree. Keep calling back, because it hurts no one to try and you never no what a CM will find for you. A big thing is no matter what happens be nice, because CM's see this and will try harder to help you.

I got an amazing call last night from CRO special services!!

I had called that morning to apply AZZ to our 3 rooms (two accessible, one regular). I never got to talk to Special Services, but was told I had AZZ at Music for 65 a night. I knew that probably was preferred view, but didn't worry about it. I was going to call back after the dust settled to see what else could be done.

Well before I could call, Special Services called me. There will be some refurbishing going on at Music and Sports while we are there (Sept 25 - Oct 2) and they wouldn't be able to guarantee our accessible rooms during that time, so he got us rooms at Movies, Standard View for $55!! Of course, that is the same discount everyone else got, but the fact that they called me to make sure we had the rooms we needed was AMAZING!!!!

What am I doing wrong??? :(

I was booked at the Polynesian in a Lagoon view Concierge room, at a rate of $445/night, AAA discount, including tax.

I called this morning and asked to apply the AZZ code. I saw on the mousesavers web site that others had gotten LVC for $390/night. I was surprised when the CM told me that my new rate would be $435/night, which is only TEN dollars less than my original rate. I even called back and spoke to a different CM, and she checked for me and told me that she was coming up with the same rate of $435.

Can anyone tell me why I'm being quoted $435 while apparently some were given $390, as per mousesavers?? Thanks! It's not a big deal because we've already paid for the room, but I'm just curious as to the difference in quotes.

Seaspray, believe the 390 per night is without tax. Tax rate is .115. 390 x 1.115=434.85.

Seems Disney is no longer discounting the upgrade rooms at deluxe resorts as strongly as std rooms. I checked % wise and it looks like concierge rooms are only about a 20% discount where std rooms are closer to 40%.

I'm looking for AP rates in November because hoped to go back to AKL concierge but at a weak 20% discount--I won't. I'd rather go to Swan Dolphin and get more for my money or just stay in std room at a deluxe.

Anyway, I think that's what the difference is.

This is weird. I thought that I read on here that someone else had gotten the $390 rate as well, but maybe I was wrong. I would call again and double check. It took us a few calls on Sunday before anyone would actually talk about the AZZ code being release on Monday.

Thanks, hightown. I bet you're right, and that's the difference in price. The second CM told me the rate was $434 and change, so that sounds exactly like what you figured out. I didn't realize that the rates on mousesavers were without tax. :o Thank you for helping me to solve the mystery! :)

Awesome, Carol! Thank you for the faith-restoring post!

9/24-9/29 POFQ water view, $111.50 incl tax ($100 w/o tax).

I had to change my ressie from CSR because the CM said it was not available there. I'm saving $183.50 over 5 nights!

My CM (Asher) was great!

Well, my travel agent did it!!!! She was persisent!!!! My final cost for 14 days at CBR (with tax) is $1327.

I will have to switch from CSR to CBR, but will save $334, which I plan to spend at the Food and Wine Events.

She had to get me two reservations---one from Sep 25-29 for 4 days and the second from Sep 29-Oct 9 (10 days). She could not get anyone to give her more than 10 days on the code and she made several calls. I even made one last night and came up against the 10 day restriction.

At least it all came out okay.

Here's to hoping I won't have to change rooms after the 4 days. Do I tell them when I checkin that there are two reservations??? Will I have to go back up to the Customs House to recheckin????

Thanks, Cindy:wave2:

I just talked to Leopold (really really nice) about the AZZ code and also the September DM Package code mentioned on Mousesavers. He said that if you are already booked with the 5 + 2 deal you would be CRAZY (yes, he yelled it ;)) to switch to one of these codes. hahaha...I'm gonna stick with the 5+2, but I know people on here have said they switched theirs. How did you save money that way?

I have had continuing reservations a couple of times, and if you tell them at check-in that you have a continuing reservation, then no more than likely you shouldn't have to change rooms. However, you will have to go back to Customs house and close out the account on your old reservation, and then check back in and get new room keys/charging priveledges.

AKL, Sept. 17-19, pool view, $132 per night plus tax!
Not too bad for my Disney wedding planning weekend. YAY!
Oh, standard view was not avail when I called, but the $12 more per night is definitely worth it.

amazing...for a last minute planned trip, really low airfare and now this. had booked this morning with AAA and got a decent rate already, but it dropped all the way down to 1064.00 (including tax) for 6 nights at the contemporary standard view wing (2 adults one child)! now all i have to do is talk DH into it. i swear, at these rates i'll stay at the all stars if i have to, to sneak in a trip this year!

*fingers crossed he'll say yes...*

geek:hyper:

p.s. just wanted to remind folks too not to forget that they still charge extra for each adult in the room over 2...i know the vets know this but new people might wonder why their discount didn't seem as deep, may be because they're adding on additional adults.

I've been crunching numbers and in our case the 5+2 deal is hard to beat. I'm just looking to save $$$ on our 1-night room-only reservation before our 5+2 package starts. (We're going in October.)

These codes are great for people that have APs. They don't need park passes so just getting a cheaper room-only rate is what they need.

I switched. I probably won't save anything-- element for element, 5+2 is a better deal-- if I factor in the seven-night total plus UPH, it's at least 200 more. However, we really don't need the UPH-- we'll get a Park Hopper Plus, either six or seven days-- we probably won't go to the parks our first day, and at least one day mid-week we'll just do water parks or resort time. We don't get Disney Quest, which I'd like to try, but time is awfully tight as always so we may not have made it over.

I switched for personal reasons-- because of some pending stuff with out business, there is a chance we may have to cancel our trip-- but I won't know until mid-August. The final balance on our trip was due August 4. Because the package deal was so good I was prepared to pay and just swallow the change fee, but now I don't have to-- and I don't have to part with two grand for a trip I might not take. I just changed for the more favorable cancellation policy.

But from a strict cost analysis, yes, 5+2 is better.

I switched from the CBR standard room 7 for 5 deal at 1,365.00 to the AKL room but a got a Pool View for 1030.00. Now for passes we will Purchase the 5 day with the 4 pluses that is offered threw ticketmania right know available to the end of August. So the grand total 1,570.00 which is 205.00 more but I get to keep the extra tickets we will never use all that a UPH has to offer we will probably spend at least one day at the Pool plus I get upgraded to a Deluxe and a Pool view. Tnkrbell - How did you luck out getting Yacht Club? When I called, the CM said Yacht Club & Beach Club had both been completely sold out for our dates (9/29-10/4). Are you going earlier in September or had you made a prior ressie & then just applied the discount when it became available? Thanks for your help. We really had wanted to stay at Yacht Club this trip.

Hi! Yes I had a previous ressie for sept!! We are going earlier then 9/29.
Our origial nights stay was 322.23 now we are paying 233 Ill take the 90 savings!!!! (89):sunny:

From my reservation with the 5 + 2 deal I have figured that the adult 5 night UPH pass is about $334.50. From what I can see, the 5 day PHP (with 2 plusses) is about $268 if you purchase it in advance (www.destinationorlando.com .) Therefore, you are saving $66.50 per ticket. I guess if you only want to use the 2 plusses this would be a good deal, but what about if you want to go to more than 1 water park, or if you want to go to PI more than once, or if you want to go to DQ even once?

Your $66.50 savings
-$21.25 to get into PI an additional time
-$33.02 to get into DQ
-33.02 to get into another water park or another day at the same one
Total = a loss of $20.79

That was my thought process when deciding whether or not to switch. Even for the difference of $66.50 it's worth it to us to not have to worry about paying extra admission costs anywhere.
