August 23 MK closes at 6:00pm for an after hours event.

I tried to get ‘Ohana for 6:30ish but so far no luck.

Right now I have Kona, but I’m thinking of cancelling it as we are staying at Port Orleans Riverside and I’m thinking if we can’t do Ohana we can head back to the resort

Now, we will have a Table Service Meal available to use from our DDP

Being done the park at 6:00 could be a good thing for a busy holiday.

Would you eat at Port Orleans Riverside?

Would you walk to French Quarter?

If you really want Ohana, I'd put in a reservation finder request with Touring Plans.

IIRC, there's no sit-down restaurant at POFQ so you'd need to go someplace else in order to use a TS credit.

Could walk over to Contempory and eat at the Wave.
If you are interested in Character Dining, Storybook Dining at the wilderness, still only 1 TS credit. There is a boat from MK to Wilderness.
If you have a Park Hopper, take the monorail to Epcot, lots of choices there.

As mentioned, if you really want Ohana, use Touring plans reservation finder.
Also keep checking, as you get closer, people cancel reservations all the time.

I would probably still do a TS from one of the MK resorts. Grand Floridian Cafe is good, The Wave is good, 1900 Park Fare is fun - you have lots of choices.

Boatwrights at POR is really good - don't discount it. It is one of the hidden gems at WDW imo. Since you're staying there anyway, why not just go back to the resort and have dinner at Boatwrights.

Try the Mardi Gras Fritters (appetizer)

I would also just take the boat to Disney Springs. There are so many good places, you can't loose going there.

What about heading from MK to DS, having dinner there and then taking the boat back to POR?
I think this is a great idea. For us 6pm would be a bit early to "head home" and I could see having dinner and then walking around DS for a bit before taking the boat back. We have stayed at POR and at the end of the night a boat ride is so much better than a bus ;)

Olivia’s at OKW is a true hidden gem. Canntake a bus directly there. After can take a boat to DS or an Uber home.
We love Olivia's - it really is one of those places ppl forget about since it feels a bit out of the way.

The Wave, if you want to stay near MK. However, I agree with the DS suggestion - that would be my preference.

I would go to DS…I don't know what you like to eat, Homecomin' is one of our favorites.

I would take a boat to WL or do Disney Springs. WL is the resort I'm always planning to visit but never do - it's on our lunch list this November (again). Disney Springs has so many great choices and the boat back to PO is such a nice option. The only restaurant I would stay away from is Planet Hollywood Observatory. Awful atmosphere and the food is not good. FYI Uniglo has amazing Disney t-shirts at excellent prices if you are a shopper :)
