Now that she has passed thru, it would be great to hear from people who are there who can give updates to those of us who have trips coming up soon.

So glad to hear that she did not do as much damage as she could have done to our beloved parks and city, but I'm sure there will be damage assessment over the next several days.

Resorts? Traffic? Gas availability? Ride closures?

Any updates would be appreciated.

Power outages are still wide spread and random. Lots of traffic lights out and pockets throughout the area are w/o power.

I don't know about the parks or resorts.

I think gas supplies are plentiful now and hopefully the costs will decrease.

I read an article that said the parks are all open again, but several of the rides at VB were debris laden and remained closed. The expectation is that these problems will be removed by the weekend. Lots of trees down, but the rides seem to suffer less than anticipated.:dogdance: There may be intermittent ride closures for clean up but they should be up and running within a couple of days.:flower1: We arrive in 8 days and are hoping for an all's clear by then.:hourglass

I was worried about the Hulk and Rip Ride Rocket being so out in the open (and high!).

I was thinking about potential structural damage, also. I read that authorities are having to inspect bridges- especially in the Keys- to make sure they did not sustain damage. Some damage can be hard to visually detect but can lead to structural failure. I wondered if the same might be true for some of the attractions.

We are coming in 11 days. Maybe we will see you there- with hopefully fully restored parks, roads, and electricity, and no more hurricanes.

The Hulk was down (at least a good chunk of the day) because the netting under it ripped apart, rip ride rockit was going, Universal Spectacular was cancelled due to some minor damage to the show systems, but should be back up soon. The saucer for the invasion horror nights scare zone was damaged, and the construction walls blocking Dragon Challege got blown over. The bridge from Jurassic Park to Hogsmeade either got some damage or is under Refurb, so they had the alternate bridge open (Right now Hogsmeade is a dead end) Some trees down in Jurassic Park. Volcano bay's fearless river was down because of too much debris. I think all of it should be back tomorrow or the next day, the wind lasted well into the night last night so I don't think they were able to fix some things, by tonight wind had died down to near calm, so I suspect much more will be going tomorrow.

Appreciate you sharing this info with us

All of us have been curious about any destruction in the parks

23 days until I'm there, and I'm so happy to hear that there's no major destruction. Keeping my fingers crossed that no new storms come - my anxiety was high enough with Irma.

I read the bridge was added back to the map just before the hurricane, so I think it was pre-planned rather than hurricane damage. Perhaps a temporary closure needed for work on the projection mapping around Hogwarts? That'd be my best guess.

Thanks for the updates! I'm coming in on Tuesday and will also help those at home by telling you what I see. Love this forum.

Keep the updates coming. We're heading down for our first Universal trip Sept 25-26. Is the in park wifi working. What about cell service?

I'll be there next Thursday first time on site and i haven't seen Diagon Alley or Kong yet! We're so excited. Now just watching Jose and hoping he stays away from the Northeast so flights don't get cancelled!! :)

Just saw a post in another thread that there is a chance part of I75 near Gainesville could close soon due to flooding of the Santa Fe River. Right now it is safe, but authorities are monitoring it and if they determine that river levels are rising too high, they could close I75 North and South bound. Anyone driving to or from Orlando should stay updated. The alternate routes don't look very convenient. At least there are alternate routes. Hopefully the river will not rise further.
