All I hear is when I try to book a reservation... keep calling back or checking online... someone may cancel. Yeah right! There is probably 100s if not 1000s of people in line wanting the same reservation.

Post here if you had luck in getting a reservation that someone cancelled. (if you previously tried and had NO LUCK).

I just got a 1:40 lunch @ Le Cellier and we leave in a few weeks, so there is hope. I was looking the other day for something else and a 6:00 Le Cellier came up too! So, yes, there's hope. Hopefully IF peeps have ressies that they see they're not going to use, they'll at least cancel and let others have them. Good Luck! :thumbsup2

I did! We didn't even book our vacation package until 1 month before. I tried every spare moment I had and at off times (late at night, early in the morning). I did manage to get almost everything we want, including Akershus storybook dinner, Boma dinner, Chef Mickey lunch. Keep trying!!! And I have seen others say, you never know about walk ups...with the new system it seems there could be a lot of double booking and cancellations ;)

:cool1:

I managed to snag a 6:30pm Le Cellier for 10/4 on 9/11/09 for 2 adults~I just kept trying (online):thumbsup2

I started trying to make ressies on Sunday 9/6 in the morning. Had no luck for Cape May Cafe anytime between 9/24 and 9/27, or for Tony's anytime on 9/26. I checked 8-12 times a day every day, all hours. On 9/10, I suddenly got a reservation for Tony's at 5:45 on 9/26 for 4A, 1C. I had checked a couple of hours before that and there was nothing. Yesterday, I finally got Cape May Cafe on 9/27 at 8:45 for 5 adults. Just prior to that, I checked for 2 adults, 3 adults, 4 adults, and 4 adults plus 1 child, all at 5:45 at nothing came up. I re-searched but accidently entered 5 adults, and it came up.

I was able to get an Ohana's breakfast and a Play 'n Dine at H&V breakfast in the last few days for the last week in September. They'd both been unavailable before for at least a week's worth of checking. Oh and there was also a Coral Reef lunch! It had been unavailable and then became available. I am checking every day though!

We lucked out and got Le Cellier for 5 people at 5:15PM on 10/4, 2 weeks after our 90 day mark!! Now if I could just snag a decent dinner time at Chef Mickey's on 10/3 our trip would be complete!

Memorial Day weekend I called to book and wanted to take my friend (WDW first timer) to my favorite restaurant, Ohana. They were booked but I called back about a month before the trip and checked just for the heck of it and there was an opening!

hey
we were lucky to get a cancelled spot for the wishes dessert party on 10/08. had to try and try but we finally got it, and its during MNSSHP...awesome

have a great day :wizard:

Just got a Chef Mickey's. Unfortunately, I need another one since I am booking for 2 different groups, but I'm just going to keep checking!:surfweb:

I'm trying several times a day....

I want the Aloha Dinner Show on 10/1 for 2 adults - SOLD OUT!

Chef Mickey's - 9/29 @ 5PM before MNSSHP

Garden Grill - 9/28 - Any time!

Still hoping... :rolleyes1

I got CM and LC for the exact times I wanted after trying over and over again for about 6 weeks.. it can be done. :)

I just decided to tag along on my mother's FD trip next week but requested we eat at California Grill, my favorite. She spent all last week calling hopping for a cancellation. She managed to finally get in the day we wanted!

You just have to be persistent. I love my mom! :goodvibes

Last Saturday I'd been searching for a week for a Chef Mickey's dinner ressie and could only get one for 8:55pm. I just happened to pop online and check, and a 6:35 was available! I was shocked since it was only 5 weeks before our trip.

We were crazy and just decided a few weeks ago to head to Disney in October. I was frantic when I first tried to make my ADR's and could get NOTIHNG we wanted. After checking back several times, I was able to get almost everything we wanted! I did have to be a little more flexible on my times, but we will not be living on a tight schedule while vacationing! We were able to get:

Kona
Chef Mickey's
O'hana
Cape May
Teppan Edo
Boma

I got all of these (except Kona) after trying for a few days. Just last Saturday, it even popped up a CRT for Saturday, October 10th! There is hope! Keep trying!

Managed to obtain 'Ohana dinner reservation during our upcoming visit after I was told by the BC IPO that "there is absolutely nothing available and they rarely open up more tables". Hah, I checked one morning last weekend online, saw availability and called to book it and cancel another existing reservation.

Last December I got a Le Cellier about 45 days before our trip. I had been calling every day, multiple times a day, so I'm assuming that was due to a cancellation. I also got a Tutto Italia that way last year.

This year, I was happy with most of my ressies from the start. I was able to get a better time at a Le Cellier when another DIS member cancelled and I snagged it online. I also was able to change my time at Crystal Palace about a week after I booked it when there had previoiusly been no earlier times available.

I got Cape May for a Friday night about two weeks before our
visit.
I remember reading on this board to try between 3 and 3:30 p.m. Eastern time, I went online at 3:15 and there it was.
I also managed to get Donald's Safari Breakfast for Saturday morning.

YES! It actually happened to me this morning. I have been trying for weeks to get an ADR at Ohana for my upcoming trip. We are almost exactly two weeks out and I was doing the same thing I do everyday, putting in the date range and it actually found an ADR for me! I was and still am super excited! Checking everyday is worth it! :yay:

I had lots of luck because i was very persistent all day every day up until the last week. I had gotten the better places also not once but twice or even three times with Ohana 5:00 dinners (two of which i kept). I had a chef mickey the day after our arrival for 5:00, i really wanted one for our arrival day. I tried for weeks and it wasnt until less than a week before our arrival i went online around noon and there it was my 5:00 arrival day dinner available. So i then cancelled my next day 5:00 dinner at Chef Mickeys and someone lucked out on my cancellation also.
Also saw a few for nice early times at Ohana and 1900 park fare & CRT also others i wasnt interested in going. Also going on at off times like very very early in the morning i did come across a block of times for Sci-fi for dinners. The last week they had put out a bunch of blocks of times for CM, 1900 pare fare, ohana, etc...you really do have to check all the time. I would check every hour or two that is why i became so lucky in getting my schedule the way i wanted it to be. I noticed i would have luck around 4:00/5:00 with certain cancellations
If you dont put in the time & effort you wont get what you want.
