Post from Graveyard Shift

I am just a little curious to see if anyone else on Dis are fellow third shifters. I work third shift at a hospital, and lately have had chance to visit during the early morning hours. So lets hear it for the few the proud the graveyard crew

I'll say "hi" for my boyfriend who is a third shifter Sun-Wed nights as a paramedic. He LOVES third shift. I thought he was crazy until I got used to his schedule. Now I love it too.

P.S. I don't know how he does it but he only sleeps from about 6am till 10:30am or so and is still functional and thats on a good day! He's been working a second full time job M-F 8am-3pm or so too.

Hi from another night shifter. I work 7p-7a as a 911 dispatcher. Glad to see I am not the only one of up tonight. I am so tired I am ready to go home and go to bed.

I love that shift and am waiting to get it back. Work did away with it and of course now is getting ready to put it back. I went to 2nd shift and HATE it! Don't see my family all week and it really stinks! I can't wait to join ya all

3rd shifter since birth here. I worked the last several years graveyard shift as a nurse and for the last year since being at home have tried to convert to days but just can't. It's 3am here and I am wide awake.

Of course, I am married to someone who gets up bright eyed and bushy tailed about 6am daily.

Wow me too! I can't do morning no matter how how I try! AND my DH is up at 430am everyday, even on weekends It works as far as we each get a little quiet time in the house too.

Now my DD13 is just like me and can stay up till 3am no problem I can't seem to change her either!! At least she HAS to go to bed early on school nights

I work 9pm to 6am Monday thru friday.
Which is why I am normally browsing the DIS at 3am.....

I work from 2-3 AM until done, usually around 3 in the afternoon Monday thru Friday. That's why I Dis at 6 in the morning on weekends!! Isn't sleeping in an hour great!!

I work 3rd shift on Monday and Tuesday night, 2nd on Friday and 1st on the weekends, which is why I am here at different times everyday!
