Does DCL do any type of follow up mailing to all cruisers once we are back home? Is there something like an application to join the castaway club, or how do we join?

We have been back for almost a month (she says with tears in her eyes!!!) and I've been hoping to hear something from the cruise line. Should I stop bugging our poor mailman? He thinks I a total looney!! (Correction.. He KNOWS I'm a total looney!!!) I still haven't recieved the postcard I mailed to myself from Castaway Cay!! (I know those take a little time.)

EmmsaGrammy: After 4 cruises I haven't received any follow up from the cruise line. You automatically become a Castaway Club member, and if you call Disney Cruise Line they will give you your Castaway Club number. My sister got a card with her name and number on it after just one cruise, so, you never know. I finally broke down and called them to request a card for myself. You might have to do that.

They sent my DH and I Castaway Club cards after our first cruise in 1998, and for a short time we were even getting a quarterly Disney newsletter, but that stopped several years ago. And after our second cruise, they assigned us new Castaway Club numbers - I had to call them to get it straightened out because I liked our old (lower) numbers better. The Castaway Club is a very quiet sort of club.

Thanks for the responses. I will give DCL a call in the a.m. I was just kinda hoping for a follow up of some sort!!:(

BIG COMPANY...little me!!!

We cruised on June 10th, and just yesterday, I received a mailing from the Castaway Club...well, actually my husband and my daughter each received one. It was about the size of a large postcard and when you opened it up, it mentioned some specials on fall 2005 cruises. It said something about mentioning our Castaway Club number when booking. Each mailer had a different CC number on it. The funny part was that the first line said, "Thank you for sailing with Disney Cruise Lines! We hope your voyage was as magical as your previous Disney Cruise Line vacation." We have only sailed with Disney one time, so I'm not sure what "previous" sailing they were talking about!

Holly, Thanks for the info! I'll keep my eyes open for the postcards!! (My poor mailman says I am worse than all the neighbor dogs that attack him!!! And he's really cute too!!!)::yes::

I called DCL and they said they will be sending out membership cards in 6 to 8 weeks following our cruise. Thanks again!!:wave2:

We were on the 5/23 wonder. Still haven't received our CC card but DH did receive an email survey a week or so ago.

Who the mailman or the the neighbour's dogs????

btw I had to call twice to get a CC card and got it about a year after our cruise. Good luck :)

Cheers,

We were on the Wonder in mid-April, and received a letter with our CC card attached approx 6 or 7 weeks later. It was in a large manila-sized envelope, and was addressed to my DH, as he had been listed as the head of our party (but we all know who did the work and planning, don't we - LOL!!).

We received our card about 6-7 weeks after returning from our trip. Guess it seems they pick and choose when they send out cards. You are automatically enrolled though.
