Post Cards

Hi all,
I'm planning on sending postcards to young nieces and nephews from WDW when I'm down there and maybe doing the Fairy Godmailer . What I need to know is what is the normal price for a postcard and where woudl I be able to get a bunch cheap. The more I can get within my budget the more magic I can spread. Thanks in advance

We were just in WDW May 20-25. I bought just regular postcards, nothing fancy for 50 cents each. You can buy them in the parks, at the resorts, Downtown Disney. They have some fancier ones that are like $2 and $3 each also!

Our local post office sells some Disney character post cards for 25 cents each. You can also go to the outlet malls and find some post cards, some times, at the Disney stores and the Universal Studios stores for about 10 for $1.....

Last year, DD bought a pack of postcards with different photos on each one. They were cheaper than buying them individually. She got them at Toontown were we went to meet the Princesses.

If you're in a gas station or grocery off property anyway, you might check out postcards there. I haven't done this lately, but years ago, I got postcards at a grocery store for about half what the ones at Disney were. They had photos of Disney characters on them, from what I recall.

Also, if you are staying at a Disney hotel, you can ask for free postcards of the hotel at the front desk. The ones I got at the Polynesian had very cute drawings of Disney characters on them.

Thanks all. I think I'll check at my local PO for cards and ask at the front desk at All Stars Movies and plan on buying some too. THanks for all the replys. I have an idea now what budget for post cards.

Yes, you can. I had taken some stamps with me, but I needed just one more. The gift shop at the Wilderness Lodge sold them.

You can also mail your cards from Downtown Disney - The Art of Disney has two sides - one side where they sell artwork and another side where they sell scrapbooking material, postcards, cd's, dvd's, book, etc. They can mail your cards from there and they will have some type of Disney postmark - and you do not need stamps. I believe if you mail anything from anywhere else in Disney, it will just have a Lake Buena Vista postmark - this one will actually say Disney.

I think you can leave them at your Disney Resort front desk, too, to mail out. I was thinking, too, that they post mark them with some sort of Disney postmark.

That is a good idea to check into free post cards at your resort!

Just an FYI for anyone planning to send postcards from the resorts. I was just in WDW 5/24-5/31. I sent out postcards on 5/25 from POR and I ended up beating the postcards home! They weren't even postmarked until 5/31! You may need to make sure you hand them to an actual person instead of dropping in the mailbox in the lobby (if that even makes a difference). Just thought I'd let you all know!
