So I finally made the switch to 12x 12 paper and a post bound album vs doing everything right on the CM page. But now my pages don't lay flat. Is that normal? It's really annoying and if they're always like that I might need to go back to CM albums and cut all the paper to fit. Which I think I might be too lazy for.

I always thought that my postbound albums laid reasonbly flat.... until I looked at a friend's CM album.... flat as a pancake!! My page tend to sort of cup a bit. Guess I have gotten used to it and it doesn't bother me....much. My guess is that the 12 x 12 page protectors shouldn't have a full 12 x 12 piece of paper in them. The paper should probably be a tiny bit smaller (width wise). No great suggestions here... just a sympathetic ear!.......P

I find that not all paper is 'true to size'. I tend to slip the paper into the page protector BEFORE I start to scrap it so I can see how it fits - sometimes I trim it down a pinch to fit better and sometimes, I leave the white paper that comes in the page protectors in because the paper is a pinch too small......so it can be hit or miss!

I would rather find out before I get the page done and then have to trim....can interfere with embellishments, ribbons, etc.

When I got my first page protector refills I pitched the little 12 X 3/4" Styrofoam things that came with them. When the front end began to be much thicker then the spine a light bulb went off in my head. Ahh! They were spacers to go between the page protectors in the spine to keep everything even on both ends.

Sounds like all of your pages are not the size the protectors are meant for. Few of the post bounds are true 12 x 12 and paper ranges all over the board anyway.

This is one of the reasons why I scrap on to the card stock that goes into (comes with) the page protectors. Although it means trimming after I wallpaper the card stock many times it is a lot easier than precutting for the CM (IMHO). Besides which I don't like the jeeping on CM but that is a personal thing.

One thing I have noticed when my girlfriend scraps without the cardstock base is that the pages wobble all over the place when the base is just patterned paper. So that might be part of the problem too,

Deb
