Post any happy memory from WDW!

I have a lot of happy Disney memories with DH, but if I had to pick just one I'd choose sitting on the beach at the Beach Club at night, watching the lights come on at the Boardwalk and the Swan/Dolphin.

On the one childhood trip that I took with my parents, my dad got up and sang some sort of karaoke at the restaurant that is now the California Grill. I have no idea what restaurant it was back then, but I think it had a different name. Anyways, my dad is painfully shy normally, but the waitress somehow got him to sing a song into the microphone. It was a hilarious experience for me

I love these threads.....but I always need to have a tissue handy!

I ususally post stuff about the kids (I've made all my trips to WDW and DL with nephews and nieces), so for a change I'll post about one of mine.

I really can't remember when I first starting loving Disney...seems like it's been all my life. I was old enough to remember when DW opened. I wanted to go very badly, but as the 2nd oldest of 6 I knew there was no way my parents were taking us there. So I waited, and in 1993, my brother was going to a conference in Orlando. My mom knew how much I wanted to go, so she told my brother he should ask me to go with him and his wife and their 2 boys. He agreed, and I was going to DW! I'll never forget that first day---it was really an evening--at Epcot. We went on Spaceship Earth, ate dinner at counter service in Mexico and watched Illuminations. It was wonderful. Then the next day we did MK. I couldn't believe I was there! Everything was so colorful and so much fun. I almost cried when I left. I've been back a few times since, and each time has been special, but that first trip was the most special!

My happiest Disney memory is from Disneyland, not WDW. I was 6 and my sister was 4 and we rode Dumbo together.

My parents took my sister and I every year from the time Disney opened. Every child deserves to have the great memories and love we have of Disney. Since my father passed away Disney remains to our family a place of great love. I can't forget all the fun times we spent as a family there. I wish my dad was still alive. He was a great dad! He always made sure we went to Disney World even when money was tight. So Disney Holds great memories for me. I hope when I die there is a Disney World in the next life! I'm sure I'll meet up with my dad there.

I'd asked her if she wanted to do this the first day we were there but she showed no interest... at least no until she saw some girls close to her age who'd had their faces painted. She asked about this for the next 3 days and I finally found a place that did it at MK so we stopped. I was concerned she wouldn't sit still long enough to get this done (she wasn't yet 3 at the time). However, she obviously really wanted this done and sat very quietly for about 7-10 minutes. As we walked around the park after she was done, I could see her glow with pride as people commented on how pretty it looked.

I took my Nephew last year for 9 days to WDW. He was 3 I will never forget the look on his face when he saw the Castle !

He and I are taking our vacation in 2 more days to Disneyland this time . He asked me if they had a Castle there So I guess I was right it will always be what he thinks of when he thinks of Disney .

I wish I had the picture to show you. My entire family went in 2002. We were in MK and it started raining, so we all bought the wonderful MM ponchos. We have a picture of my dad holding my nieces hand (2) walking down Main street. Its a great pic of the 2 of them from behind, and the street is fairly empty due to the rain. It is a special memory because my dad was diagnosed with a degenrative neurological condition and is now confined to a wc. I am so grateful for that trip

Watching my then 3 1/2 year old (now 14 ) son meet his idols, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at Disney/MGM Studios. I've never seen him so happy. He had his photo taken with each of them and the one of him with his favorite, Donatello, we had blown up to poster size and it hung on his bedroom wall over his bed for 10 years!

I miss those Turtles!

I know I have posted this reply to this type of thread before, but I love to share the story with people that appreciate it

Sam was not quite 4 and this was his first trip. We went to MK after arriving and checking in, getting us to MK at about 2:30.
Anyway, we walked under the train trestle, spotted the Castle, and I heard the most excited shreek come from Sam....'mommy, we're really here, we're at Disney World'

There are a lot of other moments, but that one always gives me goose-bumps and I think I will always hear that moment whenever I see the Castle.
