I doesn't have to be the greatest moment you've had at WDW, or the most significant, just post some happy memory you have from WDW.

I have a memory from our honeymoon. Mandy and I had never ridden the Tower of Terror before that trip. We had just gotten off of the our third ride on the ToT and I really wanted to ride it again, but I was afraid that my new bride would be bored if we rode it again, so I didn't ask. As we walked out of the exit and started to pass the entrance to the queue, Mandy looked at me and said hopefully "Do you want to ride it again?". I didn't think it was possible, but I fell in love with her even more at that moment.

Come on, think back. Post any happy memory you have at WDW. Share the magic with us.

I would have to say it's watching my boys get their hair cut by Michael in the Barbershop. Watching him put the pixie dust on their hair and the look on my son's face is one I'll never forget!

Magic Kingdom night at Member Homecoming this past May. There were only 2000 that could stay after the fireworks. It was great to be able to walk on the rides when everyone else was being shown the gate. Walk on to any and all rides and ride again if you wanted. Walk up to the window and order food without paying for it. It was so cool to see the park so empty. DH and I had a blast!

oh, goodness, there are so many...

watching the fireworks from inside Cinderella's Castle has to be up there at the top of my list. it was our second trip to WDW, and the very first day we were in lforida my younger dd caught strep throat and we had to have a house call by the Disney doctor. we had ressies for breakfast in the castle on the second day of the trip, but had to cancel because dd was sick. a few nights later we had the opportunity to dine in the castle. ir was so beautiful.

"Memory", as in I have to pick just 1 memory? Okay, I'll try.

This past trip my DH had taken the boys over to BB and I went to the parks alone. While I was in EPCOT, Genie from Aladin was doing a Meet and Great. I got in line and told him that my DH and DSs were at BB but asked if could I still have a picture of him for my DSs. He motioned for the family behind me to take my camera and then motioned for me to come up and dance with him while they took the picture. :D

Then there was the day in the Studios and we caught a perfomance of "Mulch, Sweat and Tears (?)". Also in the crowd was a young girl who I would guess to be 7 - 9 years old. She was in a wheelchair and was missing her hair. Pretty obvious that she had been very ill or still was ill even. The band gave her so much attention and also had their pictures taken with her. So call me a cry baby but I started crying to see that. Just all at once it hit me that I have 2 healthy children. I'd like to believe that the little girl was recovering from her illness but if not, she had a beautiful moment for her family to remember. The happiness on her face .... okay, hand me some kleenex 'cause here I go again.

See, I can't pick just one happy memory ... I have hundreds!! ::yes::

I have a very happy memory of my first trip ever to Disney World. It was 1976, I was 15 yrs old, and it was just my mother and I.

My mother grew up and lived in NYC until she was in her 30's, (and this was in the 50's), so she never learned to drive because she didn't have a need to. Eventually they moved to NJ (WAY before I was born), and she still never bothered to learn to drive. So, being someplace alone with my mother was something extremely different, and extremely special! I'm also the youngest of 7 kids, so being ANYWHERE alone with my mother didn't happen too often.

I remember us riding the monorail from the TTC (we stayed offsite back then), I remember the exact bench that my mother sat on and waited for me while I took the raft over to Tom Sawyer's Island (it brings tears to my eyes now, when I see that bench. It's still there, in the same spot).

It was a wonderful week; a teenaged girl spending time alone with her mother, in the best place in the entire world :sunny:

P.S. The fact that my mother agreed to go on this trip, and to FLY, was something amazing in itself, because she had a big fear of flying. But she didn't want me to miss the opportunity to go to Disney World :) Thanks, Mom

I have a special one. My Grandpa was kissed right in the middle of his bald foreheadwith bright red lipstick at the Diamond Horseshoe in 1985. It may sound silly and simple, but it makes me happy and sad at the same time. No amount of money could ever buy that feeling.:)

When I took my DM there for her 60th Birthday. No one has ever done anything like this for her in her life. When I suggested this to her she thought I was joking and let the thought go.

I had made the reservations in May for the 60th day in Jan. When I asked her if she had gotten off work yet she stared at me as if I was my brother and speaking in tongues. It was SUPPOSED to be just the 2 of us. Well, it turned into the 12 of us. One of my aunts decided to run in the Marathon along with her DD (my cousin) and her best friend. Well, three of her other sister decided that if two of them would be there then they would too, and so on until the total party was 12.

We had dinner at Cape May Buffet. It was a great dinner. I had made my DM a button with Mickey Mouse, ribbon and her age on it. The piano player outside Casey's had the entire group sing Happy Birthday to her. Goofy called her at the Christmas store in Liberty Square.

She cried later that night when she was remembering her birthday the year before. She was helping me as I had just given birth the month before. I also forgot about it until 10pm. She did my laundry, cooked, and cleaned my home. She also had to make the decision not to revive her mother (my grandmother) that day.

This was the best day for her. Very 'Magical"

This has now turned into the family vacation weekend. This will be the 3rd all of the "Sisters" get together again at WDW. Now a couple of the cousins will be there. I am planning this trip again and this time it is for 20. The other cousins and spouses may be there in a few years too!

Thanks for the memories,

mine was a few years back, my DD and I were staying at the YC concierge. she was asleep, about. I woke around 2:30am and went out on my porch.

what a great feeling that was! full moon, everything still and quiet. the boardwalk area and YC pool area had enough lighting to see the overnight workers quietly doing there work , cleaning and straighting everywhere out! I was really something to see......I then looked up and saw a few shooting stars!

It was a very "magical" and relaxing feeling!

Here's a simple one:

The year I met Dan there, in fact, it was the day I met him, we all went and rode Splash Mtn. Afterward, he wanted us to watch the 3:00 parade. We hadn't really planned on it as I am not big on parades (I didn't understand the difference between a parade and DISNEY paprade LOL)

Anyway, he thought a good place to watch was in FLand where the parades starts out and we had the perfect place to stand and watch. Hunter even joined in the parade with the characters when they stopped in front of us so I was taking pics like crazy and then was out of film! I had more in the suitcase back at the motel but that wasn't doing me a bit of good at MK.

Just then, Dan leaves for the restroom and upon returning, he brings me a roll of film that he just "happens" to have. Yeah, right, he has a digital camera that uses no film!
So he had purchased that roll for me to have for the rest of the day because he probably knew I was too cheap to pay 3x as much for a roll of film at the park than at Walmart. LOL

It was just a special moment that stands out. Very simple and very kind. While waiting for that parade I spoke on Dan's phone with LisaTX who has always had a very soft spot in my heart. I'll never forget that!

This past summer when I took Holly and Remy to MGM. We saw the Bear in the Big Blue House show and I cried watching my girls clap along and truely enjoy themselves!

We have only been once. But I already have lots of memories :teeth:

I remember being at MK our first full day. DH and DS went off to ride the cars (Indy speedway). Just getting tears in my eyes watching my family have fun. It was a very emotional moment for me.

A favorite memory: This past summer watching my nieces and brother as they watched Wishes in the Magic Kingdom. It was my nieces' first trip and my brother had not been in 25 years. It was very special to me to see their faces as they looked towards the castle and the sky. They were mesmerized! Also, watching their faces as SpectroMagic wove its way through Frontierland. It was a magical trip!!

My favorite memory...
Our DD's were 2 1/2 and 5, our very first trip, the very first day... we enter the Magic Kingdom just as the 3:00 parade comes 'round Main St.... Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and Donald are riding in a red car right in front of us, and my then 5 year old looks up at me in amazement and say's " Mommy! They're havin' a parade for us!"
That is why every time I go thru the gate and under the train station, I get misty...::yes::

DD was 18mo and Minnie picked her up and cradled her like a baby. She just laid there, mesmerized, well of course I'm taking pictures. I start to look around and there all these people watching and taking pictures of my baby. Minnie sat and held her for about 5 minutes. Minnie became her favorite right then and there.::MinnieMo

There are so many - from different stages in my life.

--I remember being scared out of my mind in The Haunted Mansion when I was 3 (this is my first life memory).

-- I remember the cute boy I flirted with all week at the Polynesian Resort when I was 17. It was my first Summer crush.

--I remember DD getting and wearing her first set of Mickey ears when she was 6 months old - they were huge on her. I have an awesome picture of her in her ears and covered in Disney pins.

--I remember DD hugging Goofy for the first time when she was 2 and a half. She stalked him for the rest of our trip.

--On the same trip, I remember DD nearly causing Disney security to have a heart attack because she tried to "steal" Mickey's nose at MGM (it was a game we always played with her and she wanted to play with Mickey). I thought we were going to get kicked out of the park.

I can't wait to go back!

Our story is about something that I just remembered earlier this evening. It was when my DD was getting her face painted. I'd asked her if she wanted to do this the first day we were there but she showed no interest... at least no until she saw some girls close to her age who'd had their faces painted. She asked about this for the next 3 days and I finally found a place that did it at MK so we stopped. I was concerned she wouldn't sit still long enough to get this done (she wasn't yet 3 at the time). However, she obviously really wanted this done and sat very quietly for about 7-10 minutes. As we walked around the park after she was done, I could see her glow with pride as people commented on how pretty it looked.

Not a memory, but have to say it.

Lapinluv - I read your post and started crying. Not just crying, but bawling. I've been thinking almost non-stop lately of how much the world has changed since I was a kid. Metal detectors in schools, no one seems to know their neighbors, and even bag searches at Disney.

When I read what you wrote, I realized that no matter what changes, there will always be magic at Disney. I know this sounds corny, when I have children and take them to Disneyland and see them in awe of the same magic I grew up with, I know I will cry.

Thank you so much for your post - it brought back my happy childhood memories and made me smile through the cloud of my rough times.

There are just hundreds in my mind and captured in my photo albums, but one that I truly treasure is way back in 1993. My girls were 3 and 7 . American Express used to sponsor an Ice Cream Social and it was held in the Contemporary, right where Chef Mickey's is now. It was a fabulous opportunity to have a personal party with some characters and have some ice cream too, although that was the least of the fun. Goofy, and Chip and Dale were especially fun and the girls were running and playing with them. Towards the end of the night, CHip was playing with my two girls in a ring around the rosie game. My little one was particularly enamored with him, and the feeling must have been mutual. As he was leaving, Chip made the I Love You signs with his hands to Allie and she did it back. They embraced and Chip then came to me and gave me a hug. I loved that moment. I imagine to this day, that Chip is a mom who just saw the true magic in my little girls face.... If only I could turn back the clock.....

This year was the first time my 3 year old would remember everything about WDW. She's very shy. She really opened up when she saw Mickey the first night we were there. We were at a character dinner, and she would just run up to Mickey and Minnie and give them a big hug. The mouse ears we bought her were her prized posession(sp) the entire week.
