Post all Panama Canal Excursion Info Here.

That is ridiculous!!! I can't believe you will not know how many formal nights until your board. How are you supposed to know what to pack. Maybe another castmember will be able to give you more information. Alternatively you might send e-mail through their web site. It takes a while to get a response but perhaps you'll get an answer there.
NOPE. I was on the phone with them for about an hour with them a couple of days ago for some other issues and asked them about how many formal, semi formal nights there were and what the other theme nights are going to be. The best they could do was tell me that there were 3 formal/semi formal nights on the 10 night Christmas cruise. At this point they really don't know what they are doing with the evening themes.

And this from a company that put "Theme" into "Park"!!

I'm still trying to get past the fact that we are the only cruise through the Panama Canal with only three ports (not counting CC or Panama Canal) over 14 days! I checked all the other cruise lines that sail that route and the minimum number of ports was five during a 14-day cruise. Plus on their websites they tell you about formal, semi-formal and dress code requirements during the cruises. Since Disney has known about this for more than 12 months, you would think they would have some info to pass on to us so we would know what to pack. It is discouraging that they don't think they'll know until we board??? As someone else commented, for the amount of money we pay, we should at least expect organized communication! :confused3 :listen: :sad2:

I'm really not surprised that they said that you won't find about formal/semi formal and other theme nights until you board. For the 10 day, we didn't find out until we checked in and got our navigator what the theme nights were. We didn't know and it didn't put a damper on our cruise at all. As you can see from my countdown, I'm also on the 14 day cruise (the August one), and it doesn't really bother me (I wouldn't mind knowing, but I don't care if I don't). If I find out before hand, that's fine. If I don't that's fine too. I'll just pack what I want to wear and be satisfied with what I bring. No biggie.

If you really want to know what the theme nights were for the 10 day, I'm sure one of the 10 day cruisers would gladly list them (I would, but I'm at work and don't really remember what all of them were). I also have all of the menus (except the regular rotational menus and I think one other). I know for sure we have 6 sets of them (2 of each, including the dessert menus - except the Christmas dinner one which we got about 20 of). I can post some of them if anyone wants to see what we had. I'm planning to scan them at some point for my fellow fools, but I've been super busy and haven't had a chance yet. :hourglass

Thanks Jenny. I guess I'll just pack two formal dresses and if we have more formal nights I will have to repeat! Luckily I think we will get the info from the May cruisers on the number of formal/informal nights. I can only assume that we'll have a similar schedule.

If the May cruisers have 2 formal and 2 semi-formal, it doesn't necessarily mean that we will too. Don't forget they have one more port than we do. The two cruises don't have to be the same. In fact, I think it will be more interesting if they aren't. We may even get different lithos from Ducky. I am just very happy to be able to go on this cruise so I'm not going to let the little things like not knowing how many formal nights or how many ports May has that August doesn't have bother me. Hey, I'm cruising the Panama Canal! Not everyone gets a chance to say that. This is just my opinion.

Exactly Renee!! I don't care if they ask me to wear a THONG to dinner ;) , it won't matter to me! I'll be on a Disney Cruise for 14 days!!!! :cloud9:

But you still need to know how many dresses to buy!

Not really. You forget I was on the 10 day, so I just have to add 4 days worth of dinner clothes to that (and I've already bought one dress from deal.com for $16 shipped - the tag said the retail price is $99 :earseek: ). I have a TON of dresses/skirts and stuff already and I think DH would freak if I bought too much more because of how much I already have and don't wear. I'll probably try to find one more dress when the prom season is over and I can get a deal on one of them.

I have found outside vendors who will book this trip. Looks like I'll keep their phone numbers and web addresses handy in case I get shut out of the Disney excursion.

I am also doing an outside vendor for Curacao Sea Aquarium this will be a "first scuba" experience for DD. Now I just need to research taxi fares :confused3

I love having the time to research and find things other than the standard Disney offering. Although I will be booking our horseback ride through Disney.

According to the Marketing Manager at the Aquarium in Curacao, taxis will be available right at the port. The cost to the aquarium (one way) is $12.00 for up to four passengers.

Have fun planning!
