Possum problem

A couple of years ago, a skunk and an oppossum fought over who was going to take up residence under our shed. I called animal control and they took the possum and relocated him elsewhere. After dusk when the skunk went off to wander, we carefully covered up the space they had used to gain access.
This morning I saw a possum in the backyard. I couldn't figure out where he had gone so I went to investigate. Well, he (and I'm sure some of his family members) chewed a rather large hole in the shed and moved right in!
I do not want to hurt them but I also do not want them living under (or possibly IN) my shed. I have young children and I do worry about the possibility of rabies in the critters. Animal control will set a Have A Heart trap but will only release it in our yard! THey suggested waiting until dusk when they go out for the night and then covering the hole. They also said to go to Home Depot and buy coyote urine and sprinkle that in the area.
My question is: Does anyone have any experience or advice about this? I like animals but this is crazy!! Thanks!

YIKES! I haven't had any experience with this but I wouldn't want possums living under my shed either.

Could you set your own life catch trap and take them off to the woods far away?

I didn't know you could buy coyote urine at home depot. I learn something new everyday on the DIS ;)
