(Possibly stupid) question about magic bands / dining plan

Hi All,

It's been a couple of years since I have been to Disney, and they didn't have the magic bands when I went last. I have also never used the dining plan. This might be an incredibly stupid question, but I like to know things before I leave rather than try and figure them out when I am there.

So. We will have magic bands and the dining plan. How do I tell the staff? Do I just hold out my hand and say I'm on the dining plan?

The CM will ask you if you are on the DDP, you do not need to worry about that! You can use your band to "pay" for the meal using your credits as well as to charge the gratuity back to your room if you wish. We just returned and had two rooms with two different plans. The CM's were fabulous and helped us to make the best use of the plan. WE charged everything back to the room, and we had my son, who paid all his purchases in cash charge teh gratuity back so we had a simple way of splitting that among us.
