It looks like I may be going in October during the week 18th - 25th. Has anyone been the week before Hallowe'en & could tell me how busy it is likely to be? I have trailed through all the school holidays in the very useful sticky & it looks like schools in Scotland are off, also some in Germany & some in Holland.

It will be quite busy with three different countries having school holidays.

The best way I have found to check is to go on to the DLRP website and see what colour the dates are to give you a rough idea of how busy it will be.

Alternativly pick up a brochure from a travel agent and do the same!

I always check the colour code thing in the brochure and online too. I'm not sure whether the schools in England may also be off that week ? We go the week before and my sister was actually talking about joining us with her kids but they aren't off until w/c the 20th I think she said ?

i thought the colour code too but when i booked my dates they were a different colour than they are now. dont know how that happened.

Last year the schools in England had split half term holidays - some had the week before Halloween. That was the week we went and the crowds were quite bearable. I believe that this year most English schools have the same week - the actual week of Halloween, so that will be manically busy. The week before should be okay, I would think.

Well, according to the brochure, its 2nd highest season prices midweek, and highest season prices weekends at the time you're going Karen.

So that would suggest it might be busy.

There is a link in the FAQ sticky to school hols in other countries as well so its worth checking that

Hi,
If it is any help my daughter is off school for her half term the week after you are going, we are in Nottingham

Thanks eveyone for your replies. Looks as it may be busy that week after all - but it's too late now to change my mind because I have booked the flights!
