During our upcoming trip in October, there will be just one Friday night when both of these will be scheduled. Is it possible to try to see the Electric Parade in DCA and then head over to DL for the fireworks?

If so, any tips on how we can do this?

Thanks in advance!! :)

Its alot easier to do now that there is no seperate bag check :)

It is possiable :)

A) Stake a spot between Greetings/Buurbank icecream area- The parade starts by the Hollywood Pictures sign)

B) Watch the parade

c) Exit immediatly after parade- You'll beat the rush to DL

D) Stake a spot for the fireworks

Ive done it many times and itll work just fine :) As long as you dont SIT to wait for the crowd to exit DCA...

DH and I will also be doing this very same thing in a couple of weeks. After leaving the parade at DCA and heading over to DL for the fireworks, where would be a good spot to go to for viewing the fireworks?

TIA

Pretty much anywhere along Main Street is good. Make sure you can see the top off the Matterhorn for Tinkerbell's flight--she starts it there.

Thanks very much! I'm printing out your post to remind me where to go. ;)

Frankly, what we have found easiest in the past (and we've done this approach multiple times on different visits). We stake out a place for the parade on the Hollywood side of the mainstreet area of DCA...near the store on the corner. We watch the parade leisurely, then head out of the park. We get out and stop at the "O" in California...we camp out in the O and usually under the "F" too and watch the parade from there...you can see it all, avoid the crowd, and stay dry in the rain (trust me). Plus the floodlights on the letters are warm which can feel nice on a chilly night (don't put skin directly on, though, as it's too warm for that).

Thanks for the helpful tips, everyone! challada, when you said that you camp out under the "O" to watch the "parade", did you actually mean to say the "fireworks" (from Magic Kingdom)? I just want to be sure we're talking about the same thing. Thanks! :D

One thing, though, if you are in the plaza area between the parks, you can't hear the music.

Yea, sorry, we park it in the O and under the F to watch the fireworks. We don't hear the music there, but we aren't elbowed by a thousand of our new friends either!
(Plus we get extra shopping time at World of Disney before the heavy bunch from DL comes out).

Yes! We did it this past Friday and with a kid in a stroller. We were in California adventure by the Golden Dreams watching the Electric Parade and then after it finished we left the park in a non-rushed pace. We were able to park the stroller and ride it's a small world once and exited just when the fireworks were starting. We had a good view right in front of toontown and small world. No crowds.

Sounds great! (I'm all for avoiding those "lovely" crowds!) Any tips on leaving MK when the fireworks are over? Do things bottleneck pretty bad? We'll either be taking the Candy Cane Inn shuttle or walking back after the fireworks and/or when the park closes.

One option if you want to make a quick exit, is to watch from the Maion Street Train Station. It's actually a nice little view. As soon as the fireworks are over, head back down the stairs (don't forget the stroller!) andout the gates. You'll definately beat a good chunk of the crowds.

I have done this several times and it can be done as said above. As far as where to see Imagine I like to be back by Its a Small World across from the Small World Gift Shop. There are some ledge things to sit on. Get as far down towards Small world as possible as the trees block the view if you are too far up. Right now with Matterhorn down Tinkerbelle isn't doing her flight, so show seemed a little shorter this past weekend. We usually stake out that spot around 8:30 have a churros and then DH or I will take the kids to ride something or shop at the Small World Gift Shop while the other one saves the spot. Its nice because you don't have to sit on a curb with nothing to support the old back. Another thing we did this past weekend was just wait until the last minute and sit in the middle of the street in front of the castle. We just walked up as it was starting and plopped down with everyone else. Although I love sitting by IASW, you don't have the view of the castle. Right now with crowds down its a lot easier to see the fireworks and Electrical parade regardless of where you like to be!

Thanks for the info on Tinkerbelle's flight. I knew that the Matterhorn was down, but I didn't even think about how that would affect the fireworks show. Also, isn't the castle covered in a tarp right now? If so, then I guess I won't have to worry about a view of Tink, or the castle either. A bit of a bummer, but on the bright side, not having Tink or the castle to consider will actually give us more seating choices, I suppose. :D
