Hi,

We're going down to Disney in late January and really want to see the new SW fireworks (Symphony in the Stars). Was wondering if it would be possible to see the 7 pm Fantasmic show first then head over to the fireworks. Is this possible or would it be too tricky/mad dash (we have two kids with us). How long does the Fantasmic show last normally? Also if it were possible, where should we sit for the Fantasmic to still see but able to make a quick get-away.

Many thanks in advance!

Hopefully, @yulilin3, the WDW Star Wars guru, will respond. However, I think the recommendation is to do F! first, if there are two, and then the fireworks. The fireworks are only about 10 minutes. I thought if you were seated on the right side, it's easier to exit and get to the fireworks. Echo Lake is supposed to be a good place to see them but may be a bit of a hike from F!.

Couldn't have answered better myself. :)
If there are 2 F! and you and your family can wait for the second one it'll be better but if you want to do the first one sit as far right as possible and you'll have about 10 minutes to find a spot.

Thanks so much! Unfortunately there's only one F! that night so no option to see if after the fireworks. As we really, really want to see the SW fireworks (main reason we're staying late that night) would it be best to skip fantastic and stake out a spot. Also you mentioned Echo Lake -- is this a better spot? Would it be right in front of 50s Prime Time Cafe?? Sorry I'm trying to picture the spot.
Thanks again!

Yes, it's the ledge right across 50s Prime Time. You get an unobstructed view of the fireworks and it's usually emptier than Hollywood Blvd. If F! is at 7 pm they show will end around 7:30 pm and then give yourself 20 minutes to walk out and go to the spot, you'll have time. If, on the other hand, you want to make sure you watch the fireworks then skip F!
There's a thread where we are discussing this and Launch Bay if you wanna join in

THANKS SO MUCH!!

In SEP, I did Fantasmic at 8:00, and made it to EPCOT for Illuminations. I was driving, so I really had to hustle. I sat high for Fan, and left 1 minute before it ended. You may want to do similar if the SW fireworks are this important. Beat the crowd out, and you can nab a good fireworks spot.

We go during the summer. And I do realize that this may not help you in January.... but, Summer of 2014, we were able to catch the frozen fireworks and a 11pm (I think) showing of F! It was a late night.
