Possible to request DAS at Disney Springs Guest Relations?

We arrive at Disney World tomorrow!!! We're staying at Fort Wilderness and will be going to Magic Kingdom on Friday and other parks after that. I was hoping to visit a Guest Relations outside of the parks tomorrow afternoon to hopefully be approved for the DAS, so we wouldn't have to waste time trying to get the DAS on our first morning at Magic Kingdom.

My friend was just at disney a week ago and she had paper tickets that had to be converted to usable tickets. She went to the Guest Relations office at Disney Springs and said that it was a very nice indoor air conditioned office with disabled parking spots nearby. She was suggesting I go there to request the DAS after checking into Fort Wilderness tomorrow. Does anyone know if they issue the DAS cards at the Disney Springs Guest Relations? If not, has anyone had any luck getting one at the Guest Relations office OUTSIDE of Magic Kingdom? I'd really like to get that out of the way tomorrow so we don't have to wait in lines at Guest Relations when we're trying to do rope drop. Thanks!

You can only request a DAS from Guest Relations at one of the four major theme parks. It may be possible to get it from an outside window, without needing to enter the parks. That may depend on how busy they are at the time (if long lines of ticket issues they won't issue a DAS outside). Depending on the person's needs, you may also have to weigh that option with the frustration of being so close but not entering the park.

Enjoy your vacation!

As mentioned above, you can only get it from guest relations at one of the four major theme parks and sometimes the guest relations outside the park won't issue it. You can try the guest relations at the MK outside the park, but if you can't get it there, I've found guest relations at the MK rope drop to be very quick. We haven't been since they started allowing people to enter Main Street before park open, but before that, we've managed to be one of the first families in City Hall and had the DAS in less than 5 minutes. With the change to allow families on Main Street prior to rope drop, does City Hall open before park open?

as other have said you can only get a DAS from one of the 4 main parks.

I was just at the fort not too long ago I went to the MK the day before I went to the park to add the people I went with to my DAS from the out side GR at the MK and it was fine. I have been told some times they can not do this.

a few other things Main Street opens up at 8am ( give or take a few minutes) so if the park opens up at 9 am then you can very easel go and get a DAS way before the park opens and be on your way.

you can do this at HS and AK ( both parks let you in a little before the normal park opens) EPCOT is the only park that GR is farther in.

If you do have to get a DAS after the park opens you can ask them to make your first return time when you get your card. I really like this because I can then slowly go to my first things and by the time I get there I can just go in line.

My understanding is that Guest Relations should be open any time guests are allowed into the park. So if guests are allow in PPO (dining reservations, the early Main Street opening, EMH, or the special Magical Mornings or whatever it's called), you should be able to access in-park Guest Relations.

As to getting a DAS return time issued when requesting the DAS, I've heard varying reports. It may or may not be given, but you can certainly request one.

Good to know. So the OP can get to the MK early and get the DAS before rope drop.

I was in a similar situation and we got our DAS card from guest relations outside EPCOT the night we arrived,it was 8pm it is easy to access in comparison to get the boat/monorail to MK, that late the are lots of front row parking from people who leave early, Remember the beneficiary of the DAS needs to be present for Picture and all the people who will be companions. DAS procedures change very often, last time they scan all our magicbands to add us to my son DAS. Have a great trip

Yes I have been in GR for thing during extra Magical hour, with pre pre park opining ( I had a tour booked and was let in at 8 on a 9 am opening day before they let you on Main Street) Disney after hours ( was in there a good 45-60 minutes after the event closed) MNSSHP and MVMCP one time it was close to the end of the party the other time it was after the party was over) So GR just like First aid if any guest are allowed in the park then they stay open.

Thank you all so much for the information and suggestions. That saved me a wasted trip to Disney Springs Guest Relations. We'll probably ride the boat over to MK tomorrow afternoon and try to get the DAS from the Guest Relations outside the park.

We're going to magic kingdom for our first park day on Friday. The park opens at 9, but they are having extra magic hours from 8 to 9. I understand the first boat from Fort Wilderness to magic kingdom will be At 7:30, half an hour before park opening. If we can't get the DAS tomorrow, then hopefully we'll be able to get through security and get the DAS before rope drop. I've heard it's about a 10 minute ride on the ferry boat, so we'll be starting to go through security at around 7:40.

It will probably take us longer than the average person to get through security. I'll be driving an ECV and we'll have my granddaughter in her stroller and a couple of backpacks. I have an implanted neurostimulator (spinal cord stimulator) so if they tag me to go through the metal detector, I'm going to have to request a manual pat down instead.

I am fairly sure you can take the bus to MK before you can get on the boat ( I think this is what we did on our MK day when I was there) but it really should not take you much longer then any one else to go thought security I have a lot of medical things that I have to have with me and can not go thought meter detectors either, and it really dose not take any loner to go thought, ( yes you will get that one CM that has to look in every inch but even this only take a few extra seconds) one thing you can do is have all bags opens and ready
