As for adding a day to the beginning of your reservation, I can't imagine it would be any different than adding one at the end. As long as they have availability (and as someone else pointed out, more rooms are becoming available as we cross the 45 day mark for free dining and people cancel out) and you're not trying to come in before the beginning of the free dining period (August 13, I think), you should be fine.
