Disney just launched a special for Canadian residents.
At Walt Disney World Resort, Canadian residents save 25% on 4-Day or longer tickets for all four theme parks. “Now’s the time to experience more magic for less, with special savings on multi-day tickets and upgrades to Park Hopper and Water Park Fun & More Options,” says the company. More information is at Disneyworld.ca/Tickets.

Do you think they will open this up to everyone? Has the decline in attendance spurred some discounts or is this typical?

this is about the equivalent of the difference in the exchange rate (a bit less). A lot of canadian visitors are choosing not to vacation in the US due to their weak dollar. I doubt they would offer this discount here.

I priced out the two ways...first using the Canadian special and then regular price. I did two adults and two children. Priced both in USD.
Canadian special...$1,102.30
Reg. Price for everyone...$1,469.72 or a 25% discount. Both in USD.
Just an FYI....
Not a bad deal at all....

Yes it is a 25% discount...not sure of the point of your math.....maybe I am missing something? It brings the cost of tickets almost on par for Canadians.

It is a great deal, with our exchange our trip is costing us much more than last year, we have many friends who cancelled, or if they are still going, the trip is shorter, or they are spending less on souvenirs and food. When you add 25% to everything, it really adds up!

This is likely to stay a Canadian only deal. Disney is likely seeing a decrease in Canadian travelers and this is hoping to bring it back up.

Actually you have to add at least 30% to everything. Closer to 35% for most people. Current spot rate is 1.32; that's before adding any exchange fees.

The reason the 25% discount works out around par is because you take 25% off and then only pay exchange on the lower price. 0.75 * 1.32 = 0.99.

Very true! Good point, when we paid off our upcoming trip, I very closely watched the exchange and got 1.29, felt it was a win lol. I hate standing in a gift shop and doing the mental math if the item is worth it for me.

I got the dining plan because of this. Ultimately, I pay when I know the fx rate is good enough so I don't have to keep converting how much a drink would cost

We have the dining plan too, hence the souvenir calculations lol

I'm a bit confused. It seems like you can only buy the tickets separately and not with a package. When booking the hotel, I'm not able to get the dining plan, because you need to purchase tickets and hotel to get dinning plan. Is there anyway around this?
