I just realized that our November flight to Orlando is within the dates of the current SW Ding specials (thru Nov. 17), but our return flight is not. Since Ding fares cannot be combined with others, and I'd booked my tickets as round-trip, I would not have been able to re-book at the lower Ding fare if one came out. So, I first checked to be sure that there were plenty (well, at least 8) seats left on our flights, then I cancelled our current round-trip flights, and rebooked as one-ways. Price was still the same, but now if a Ding fare comes out that's lower for our flight to Orlando, I can rebook it!
Just thought I'd share in case someone else is in this situation and might be able to benefit from booking one-way instead of round-trip. I have a pretty good fare already ($89 from Houston), but I have seen lower Ding fares, and I wanted to be able to take advantage of it if one comes up.
