Possible New Large Scale Attraction @ MGM

I think the show sounds incredible and I agree that the price isn't any more than any other Broadway show or even the best seats at the Disney on Ice shows.

Ugh, NO MORE SHOWS! Finding Nemo musical, Lights Motor Action, no more! I've had my fill of live shows for awhile. Spend the money on new ride attractions and fixing the current troubled areas in the parks / resorts.

I just did the same survey and the prices they gave me were $113 per adult and $93 for kids ages 3-9. Personally, I think it is a bit too high.

We would love to see a show like this! But, I would not want to pay $100+ per ticket to see it! That also doesn't mean that I wouldn't!

As someone who lives in NYC it would not really appeal to me because I can take that same money or even less sometimes and go see a broadway production(which usually run closer to 2:45).

Although I have no doubt that this show would probably be excellent, to me doling out another $150 for a couple, more for a family is alot to ask of people who already are dropping a serious amount of money on vacation.

I wonder just as Magical Express and the dining plan are designed to keep people from going offsite and spending money elsewhere, is this show supposed to be an alternative to Cirque???

Whatever happened to the site they were going to build that magician's dinner show restaurant? Wasn't that going to be just outside the entrance to MGM? I remember the advertising hoardings along the right hand side as you walked towards the entrance gates.

I certainly think MGM needs some more attractions. I'm not sure if that makes me as excited about some other possibilities, like bringing the Indy Jones ride in from LA.

I love shows, my kids love shows. It is like anything else. For those with an interest in musical theatrical shows it will be worthwhile but many people will not spend the extra money. I would pay because I would know it would be great.

and honestly id like to know where they plan on putting this ting. i worked at MGM for almost 6 months and there really isn't the space left for this kind of building. unless they demolish some corporate offices, but i doubt that will happen.

Sure there is. To the right of the fantasmic exit path (behind security to the right of the gates). Just where they were going to put "Copperfield's Underground".

There was a rumor (I think) about an exterior accessible theater being built there several years ago. For concerts and such.

My only problem with this concept is that we already pay a lot of money for admission into the parks, and it keeps on getting higher. At least with Cirque it is not a Disney owned show, and it is at DTD, where you don't need to pay admission to get into. They need to put an attraction in there that we do not have to pay extra for!!!! Oh, I wish I had that survey in my hand, so I could fill it out.

I'd be happy to see it once. If I liked it I might even go back every couple of years. $75.00 seems like a "normal" price for this type of show provided it's at least a Broadway calibre peroformance.

Sounds interesting but I would pass. I'm spending enough down there so to pay a minimum of $150 to see a show wouldn't be a draw. Plus how many little kids are going to want to sit for almost 2 hours for a show.
I can already hear all the complaints about little kids making noise, getting antsy, not sitting still during a show that costs people alot of money.
It'll be worse than the movie theater threads and that's only like $30.00! LOL

I'm with you. My DS4 had a hard time sitting through Cars when it was in the theatre. If I was paying $$$ to see this 'special' show, and that's a pretty big IF, I'd be pretty ticked if we had to leave early because of him. It would make the whole night stressful.

So I wonder why it's a nightime show if it's in an indoor theatre?

I'd pay. I don't see it any different than attending Cirque which draws large crowds every night. True, this show would be Disney themed, but I see nothing wrong with that. I realize that it is expensive, but not muh different than attending Cirque.

Would people feel the same if the theater were built at DTD instead of MGM? It is a Disney option, like attending one of the parties or doing an Illuminations cruise, etc. It is up to each guest to decide where their money will go and how they want to spend their valuable vacation time.

If I were them, I wouldn;t bill it as part of MGM. I wouldn't have done this. Even if it right next to MGM but not attached, it will seem less like a MVMCP type of thing and more like a plus feature. 75 bucks is more than park admission. I would want it to be called something more than your standart, albeit excellent, park fare.

i didn't read anything but i have an idea of what they could do...i think that they should allow disney resort guests with park admission to make an resversation if you will for one night on your trip at no extra charge...i just don't like the idea of buying park admissions and then paying extra for a show in the park. but still charge 75 or whatever for other guests who would like to see it...i don't know how practicle this is im just kind of thinking out loud
